Full job description
The Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Event Coordinator to support our beloved Teas at the Mill series at the McLean Mill. This role is ideal for someone who has experience working in the service/hospitality industry and is looking to gain experience managing events, volunteers and performers.
Key Responsibilities:
- With the help of the Community Arts Council staff, coordinate the Teas at the Mill event series.
- Ensure all food handling follows provincial safety standards by overseeing food preparation, presentation, and service.
- Organize and manage volunteers for event setup, service, and cleanup.
- Liaise with musicians and performers, ensuring timely arrival, setup, and performance flow.
- Serve tea and food during events when needed.
- Support event promotion in coordination with CAC staff.
- Maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment for all guests and participants.
Qualifications:
- Food Safe and Serving It Right certification is required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Comfortable working with the public, volunteers and performers.
- Friendly, professional demeanor and customer service experience.
- Ability to lift and carry light loads (tables, supplies, etc.) and has a reliable vehicle.
- Must be available for all Teas at the Mill event dates: July 13, 27 and August 17.
