Head of Legal / Entertainment Paralegal

The Head of Legal will assume responsibility of all contracts and licensing agreements for The District, Seeking Blue Records, Seeking Blue Management, and found/red Records.

The head of legal will be responsible for negotiating terms on behalf of the labels in a timely and transparent fashion with both existing and future clients and partners. The head of legal will report and summarize and request changes to the relevant departments and act on good faith at the wish and ethos of the companies.


- Draft & circulate legal documents for attorney review, including licensing agreements, remix agreements, side artist agreements, artwork agreements & other agreements as needed for multiple labels.

- SoundExchange or payment LOD’s

- YouTube and online artwork licensing agreements

- IP Ownership & online rights management

- Any external or additional agreements that sit outside of the label boundaries

  • Advise and respond to questions regarding contractual provisions.
  • Organize and upload documentation to servers.
  • Negotiate and handle label waivers for multiple labels.
  • Track end dates for label agreements for renewal and termination purposes.

Required qualifications:

  • College or university degree.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience at a law firm or in a legal affairs role, with a firm understanding of legal contracts.
  • Experience in (or passion for) the music industry.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook, and general ability to navigate new technological systems.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

COVID-19 considerations:
For COVID-19 - Work from Home is mandatory with weekly Zoom meetings and occasional in-person meetings given proper quarantine and precautions are taken.
