The Role
Reporting to E-Shop Lead, the Electrical Assembler is responsible for all electrical assembly in the shop and installation/connection/troubleshooting/ teardown in the assembly area.
This is a full-time position on the day shift:
Monday – Thursday: 7:00AM – 4:30PM
Friday: 7:00AM – 3:00PM
Responsibilities
- Install connections identified and properly affixed as per Code
- Perform panel layout according to drawings
- Maintain efficient assembly/install times (actual vs. budget)
- Communicate with all other departments to ensure issues are resolved pertaining to electrical function
- Comply with Company Safety policies and follow the established procedures in regards to the record of incidents/accidents
- Complete and deliver all the required paperwork in a timely manner
- Ensure that electrical drawings marked up with changes/omissions are submitted to electrical engineering for the update of customer manuals: diligent use of and compliance with ECR & CAR.
- Electrical installation on new machines, panel and junction box building
- Moving or adding equipment in the building and production lines.
- Apprentice Training
- Keep the work area tidy, clean, and organized on a daily basis
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in electrical panel building and equipment installation
- Electrical Technician background
- 442A Industrial Electrician or 309A Electrician license
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematics, line layouts and BOMs
- Basic ability to comprehend engineering drawings
- Understanding of the PC-based software
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code
- Able to fabricate brackets, hangers, and junction box mounts
- Knowledge of the company products and manufacturing processes
- Understanding of the lockout/tagout procedures
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to use hand tools safely and efficiently
