Come join our fun-loving organization! We are a local non-profit that offers musical opportunities to persons recovering from mental illness. We are currently planning our Fall programs running from Sept-Dec and are looking to hire an instructor/facilitator that can lead a Drum Circle or Djembe lessons.

A drop-in drum circle which could incorporate different types of drums and percussion, in a semi-structured format inclusive of all levels of drummers (including beginners & advanced). We can supply the drums and percussion (we currently have several djembes, 10 indigenous frame drums, congas, and miscellaneous percussion instruments).

We are open to the possibility of djembe lessons as well, if the instructor has a few extra djembes they could supply (we only have 4).

The program would run from the first week of Sept to mid Dec 2022. We have budgeted for a 1.5 OR 2 hour session 1x per week.

Our rates of pay are as follows:

$84 per 1.5 hour session (Contract)

We provide the space – we have an heated/air-conditioned theatre at Eric Martin Pavilion on Fort street. Or there is the option to facilitate outdoors under the trees in front of the building (weather permitting).

The successful candidate must complete a criminal record check, as we work with a vulnerable population.

*Must be fully vaccinated as we operate out of the Eric Martin Pavillion (Royal Jubilee Hospital)

How to Apply: To apply, please send us your resume with a brief description of your relevant skills and experience and why you'd want to work for us (formal cover letter is optional, but not required). If you have any further questions, please contact Janet Pryer, Executive Director.

We'll begin reaching out to candidates by mid to late July, to set up interviews. We hope to hire by the first week of August, latest.

Application Deadline: July 25th, 2022
