The Peterborough Drug Strategy is a collective of 17 local organizations united by a shared mission: to reduce the harms associated with substance use and the negative impacts of policies in Peterborough City and County. Our approach centers around the Four Pillar framework, encompassing Harm Reduction, Treatment, Prevention, and Enforcement. The Role: We are currently seeking a Drug Strategy Coordinator to join our team on a 2-year contract, with the potential for renewal, pending funding availability. We are looking for an individual who embraces collaboration, adept at building relationships, supporting diverse perspectives, and devising creative solutions to accomplish our collaborative objectives. As the Drug Strategy Coordinator, you will lead the collaborative efforts, using community development approaches, oversee a team of Project Leads, manage day-to-day operations, and steer the group forward within the strategic framework set forth by the PDS Partners. Current initiatives for 2023/2024 include, leading the evaluation and reporting for the Mobile Support Overdose Resource Team (MSORT), PDS strategic planning, and supporting a peer advisory committee, as well as overseeing A Question of Care,

As the Drug Strategy Coordinator, you will enjoy autonomy in leading your work, exercising creativity, and taking ownership of the process. The compensation for this role ranges from $34.52 to $38.60 per hour, based on a 35-hour workweek.

What we’re looking for:

· Possess relevant post-secondary education (e.g., MPH, MA, social sciences, international development, social work, SSW, drug and alcohol counseling, etc.) or equivalent work experience.

· Demonstrate at least 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar position or with comparable skills.

· Exhibit proficiency in grant writing

· Showcase the ability to manage competing interests and navigate challenging community discussions.

· Lead and oversee staff working on independent projects, including defining scope, execution, and timely delivery of the finished product.

· Possess diverse skills in areas such as community development, research, knowledge translation, evaluation, strategic planning, partnership development, and the utilization of peer expertise.

· Demonstrate proficiency in managing a budget and finances.

· Works well as part of a team and values collaboration.

· Possess a comprehensive understanding of social determinants of health, harm reduction, housing barriers, and addiction-related issues.

· Display strong technical aptitude.

· Resides in Peterborough County or be able to travel to Peterborough as needed.

· A police records check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search, dated within 3 months prior to the date of hire, is a requirement for employment.
