Summary
The Director of Service and Rental Operations for Western Canada is a key leadership role focused on driving growth and excellence across service operations, rental operations, parts management, fuel systems, production processes, and facility management. This strategic leader will develop and implement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction, setting new industry standards. What You’ll Do – The Role (Responsibilities)
- Responsible for achieving Operations gross margin and income results that exceed forecasts for assigned branches.
- Coach, manage and provide direction and support to the department managers & their teams, holding them accountable for customer service excellence, safety, quality, productivity, daily activities & commitments, and metrics.
- Hold teams accountable for customer service excellence, safety, quality, productivity, and metrics.
- Liaise with the Sales team to ensure high-level customer service.
- Assist with budget planning and forecasting operational objectives.
- Ensure coordination and scheduling of maintenance and repair services, prioritizing emergencies.
- Oversee service, parts, and rental operations to meet revenue and income targets.
- Present new ideas for revenue growth and increase market visibility.
- Ensure a professional and safe work environment for all employees.
- Support H&S and ensure that we meet all requirements for COR certification
- Report unsafe conditions to the health and safety officer or HR as needed.
- Provide timely reports and forecasts as requested.
- Present and communicate company goals, objectives, plans, and strategies effectively to the team.
- Participate in company-sponsored training programs to enhance skills.
- Work with the VP and peers to develop, recommend and establish policies, practices, and systems to achieve this strategic objective.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as may be required from time to time consistent with the position of Director, Service/Rental Operations and the job description and duties set out herein.
- Coordinate with the management of the PM & Engineering Team to; execute projects on time and on budget such as submittal drawings and approval, production orders, order placement, scheduling, invoicing and commissioning.
- Coordinate with the management of the turnkey team to assist in the execution of sales opportunities that come from Equipment, Service or End Users, ensuring that department priorities are aligned.
- Successfully manage the needs of the Company's customers to meet the objectives of the company's overall business plans and strategies.
- Deliver on our Customer Service Promise to ‘make each Customer experience extraordinary’ by upholding our Pillars and Values and following our Company Communication Charter.
- Take a proactive approach in resolving customer complaints and disputes.
What You Need (Requirements)
- Minimum of 5 years related experience in a service/rental operations leadership role.
- College or University graduate preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments and key business partners.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computers.
Working Conditions
- Travel will be required to each branch within the assigned territory at minimum once per fiscal quarter.
- Travel within the territory to customer and/or job sites as needed on a regular basis
- Periodic travel will be required, including to the USA. A valid passport and ability to enter the US is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle insurance for business use.
- Overtime as required.
- Lifting or moving up to 40lbs may be required.
- In the case of a power outage or declared Emergency by any level of Government within the region in which the company operates, be available for work.
