About Us: The Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies (AAAS) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated in supporting the nearly 300 Agricultural Societies across the province.

About the Job: We are looking to fill two roles - Our safety education series, “I’m Ok, the cost of injuries” is a unique and innovative approach to promoting farm safety which targets a 13 – 30-year-old audience. Our shows are a blend of technology and performing arts that tell a compelling story in an unconventional way. There are 3 unique, 30-minute shows. The program will be brought to life by a pair of individuals. This team will travel across Alberta to fairs, festivals, rodeos, schools, and other events where bookings occur, to deliver live farm safety shows using cutting-edge digital technology.

Location: Based out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (Travel Required)- vehicle supplied.

Team Responsibilities:

  • Be an outstanding representative of AAAS.
  • Operate the “I’m Ok” transport van, travelling to locations as required.
  • A drivers abstract will be required.
  • Interact with onsite personnel.
  • Set up and dismantle an 8x14 video wall and audio system for live farm safety shows.
  • Coordinate and schedule show performances at the various locations.
  • Ensure the safety and security of all equipment during transportation and setup.
  • Lift and move equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.

Digital Screen Tech

  • Operate digital and audio equipment.
  • Utilize live polling tools.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues as needed.

Requirements:

  • Clean driver's abstract and valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to set up and operate digital screens.
  • Willingness to perform as actors in a live show, with or without prior acting experience.
  • Availability to travel across Alberta for extended periods.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Assets:

  • Background in acting or drama.
  • Experience with farm safety or related fields.
  • Knowledge of basic technical troubleshooting.
