Cook/ Kitchen Lead

Fort In View Golf Course & Driving Range is proud to be one of the few remaining family-owned golf courses in the Edmonton area. Our 27-hole golf course, fully licensed clubhouse and excellent staff provide an enjoyable day for golfers of all skill levels. Additionally, we host golf leagues and tournaments for groups of up to 200 golfers.

We are looking for an experienced cook to join our Food & Beverage team. As the Kitchen Lead / Cook, you will supervise and work with other kitchen staff to prepare food, maintain health & safety standards and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include:

  • Train and supervise kitchen staff.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and ensure cleaning is done regularly.
  • Assist with the staff schedule.
  • Assist with the inventory and ordering of all necessary food & beverage items.
  • Ensure the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.
  • Prep food for daily service as well as tournament meals for up to 200 people, including grilling steaks.
  • Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer complaints if they arise.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Food Safe Certificate.
  • ProServe Certification.
  • Additional qualifications are not required but would be considered an asset
  • Experience cooking in a commercial kitchen. Grill cook experience is an asset.
  • Experience in training and managing staff.
  • Experience working large events, golf tournaments or camps.
  • Customer service and team leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible availability; weekdays, weekends and evenings.

This is a seasonal position.

Remuneration is based on qualifications and experience.
