COMPANY: Women’s Enterprise Organizations of Canada (WEOC)
POSITION: Communications Officer
HOURS: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, occasional weekend and evening work required
REPORTS TO: Communications & Engagement Manager
Position Overview:
At WEOC, the Communications Officer role is integral to the success of the organization and its mission to support the growth and success of entrepreneurs in Canada. Working within the Winnipeg head office, the Communications Officer connects with colleagues and stakeholders across Canada, helping to build and maintain key relationships. Working directly with the Communications and Engagement Manager, they bring creativity and enthusiasm to the implementation of strategic communication plans. Areas of focus include managing the WEOC brand; raising the profile of the organization, its members and the WEOC National Loan Program; engaging members through events, workshops, a robust member library and well-developed events and workshops.
Key Roles:
- Plan, develop and write a wide variety of print and digital marketing materials, including blog posts, articles, reports and social media campaigns.
- Assist with the development, coordination and execution of live and virtual events, including the annual WEOC National Summit.
- Help manage the WEOC website, social media channels, newsletters and a robust online member library.
- Maintain communications database, including digital analytics.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in journalism, marketing, communications or other relevant discipline with proven, related experience.
- Understanding of current and developing social media and digital marketing tools and trends.
- Exceptional writing, proofreading and editing skills.
- Knowledge of WordPress, Canva, Vimeo, video and audio editing software an asset.
- Written and oral French an asset.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills.
- Winnipeg-based preferred.
Benefits
- Competitive salary: $48,000 to $50,000, plus RRSP contribution.
