Full job description
ABLE Engineering Services is a versatile, experienced, multi-disciplinary engineering firm that works on a wide range of projects. We excel in civil and structural engineering, surveying, and the design of infrastructure systems for commercial, residential, governmental, and industrial projects. We are seeking Civil Engineering Technicians to join the team in our Valley office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Create detailed civil engineering design drawings using computer-aided design software
· Provide consulting services to municipal/private clients and developers
· Identify potential operational/interference issues and redesign systems to improve functionality
· Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards
· Complete project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule
· Systematically organizing project files and drawings on our servers; keeping the server organized; updating project folders and files as jobs progress and revisions are made
· Other responsibilities assigned by the department head as required
QUALIFICATIONS
· Civil Engineering Technology diploma from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution, registration as a Civil Engineering Technician (CET) preferred
· Highly proficient in the use of Autodesk Civil 3D and related analysis tools is a requirement
· Experience with municipal and linear infrastructure design is a requirement
· Field inspection experience is an asset
· Excellent drafting skills and good knowledge of use of templates, drawing set-up, and production
· Proficient in the use of Office Suite products (Word, Excel, etc.)
· Proven work experience (minimum of 2 years) as a designer, drafter, or a similar role
· Excellent technical, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
· Ability to handle complex designing and drafting assignments with minimal supervision
· Ability to create drawings from written specifications and verbal instructions
· Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
· Must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle for periodic travel to work sites within Nova Scotia
