Category Marketing Manager: Tactical
Position: Category Marketing Manager – Tactical/Firearm Enthusiast
Type: Full-Time
Industry: Firearms Components & Accessories
Overview: Are you passionate about tactical gear, shooting sports, and helping enthusiasts find the best products?
We are looking to fill the role of Category Marketing Manager for our Tactical category (think, general firearms enthusiast)of products and lead product marketing.
In this role, your responsibilities will include market research, customer engagement, and product marketing initiatives to name a few. You will require an intimate understanding of both product, and customer, and understand exactly how to communicate with them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Campaigns: Develop and execute marketing campaigns for our tactical/general category, including product launches, email campaign strategies, social media content, and influencer partnerships.
- Market Research: Conduct research to identify product gaps, customer pain points, and trends in the space to inform product development and marketing strategies.
- Customer Engagement: Build and work with our community of ambassadors and influencers to align messaging and enhance customer relationships.
- Content Collaboration: Partner with our content division to create and oversee product messaging across social media, video content, product and category pages.
- Event & Sponsorship Planning: Identify and execute sponsorship opportunities (range days, events, meet-ups, trade shows) and represent the company at key industry events.
- Product Feedback: Liaise with customer support and gather feedback to improve products and the customer experience.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years in a product marketing role.
- Must “live and breathe” the firearms industry and be an active participant/user in some fashion.
- Have at least some knowledge of specific categories like “PRS/NRL, Hunting, etc”.
- Passion for shooting sports, and related products.
- Ability to think like the customer and tailor messaging to the tactical/firearm enthusiast community.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
- Experience working with influencers, PR, and community-building initiatives.
- On-camera personality or experience with video content is a plus.
