We are currently seeking a Carpenter to join our Construction Team.
The Carpenter plays a key role in constructing and maintaining temporary site infrastructure while supporting self-perform tasks as needed. The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate a strong work ethic, effective communication skills, a willingness to learn, physical stamina, and a positive, responsible nature. This position provides excellent opportunities for skill development and mentorship, making it an ideal fit for an experienced carpenter looking to advance their career in construction management.
Key Responsibilities:
· Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate the requirements of a task.
· Preparing layouts in conformance with building plans and codes.
· Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials using hand tools, machines, or power tools.
· Forming foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems.
· Building concrete formwork in accordance with plans.
· Performing framing and quality checks on subcontractor installed work.
· Safely operating and maintaining carpentry tools and equipment.
· Ensuring compliance with Troika’s safety program and procedures.
· Other duties as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:
· Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
· Red Seal Certification required.
· Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labour, lift heavy objects, bend, crouch, and/or kneel for long periods of time throughout the day.
· Proficient in using hand and power tools relevant to carpentry work.
· Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and building codes.
· Excellent mathematical skills for measuring and calculating dimensions.
· Attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
· Good working knowledge of wood properties.
· Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
· The ability to operate a skid steer and/or telehandler is an asset.
· Valid Class 5 driver’s license with own reliable transportation.
· Safety certifications, including First Aid, are an asset.
· Tool belt and personal tools are to be provided by the employee.

Experience Required:
· 2-5 years of construction experience.
· Knowledgeable of other trade disciplines and possessing a working knowledge of the processes on a construction site.
· Experience working on large projects and multi-family builds is an asset.
The ideal candidate will be able to take the initiative and work independently as well as in a team environment.
