Brewer

Come join the Barn Hammer team as a Brewer! We are looking for an energetic and driven individual to to add their ingenuity and imagination to our company and our beers. Applicants should have a love for beer, a passion for brewing, and an inquiring, curious mind. Forklift experience is also an asset. Experience is an asset but we are willing to teach the right candidate should it be you!

Main tasks and responsibilities are as follows, these include but are not limited to:

Brewing;

• Complete all brew day tasks with attention to detail
• Recipe design
• Research and troubleshooting to constantly improve overall beer quality

Packaging;

• Kegging
• Off-packing on canning days
• Creating casked beers for events
• Keep accurate records of all packaged goods

Quality control;

• Perform QC on each beer prior to packaging
• Participate in more formal bi-weekly QC sessions

Tap room maintenance;

• Organize beer cooler for tap room stock
• Bi-weekly cleaning and maintenance of taproom beer lines
• Bi-weekly cleaning of tap room keg fridge

Cellaring;

• Fermentor and bright tank CIP, sanitization and CO2 purge
• Tracking and recording fermentation
• Dry hopping, fruit additions, etc.
• Yeast management; cropping, pitching and ensuring stored yeast health is optimal. Performing yeast cell counts as required.
• Finished beer transfers to bright tank, carbonating to specification

General cleaning and sanitization of brewery, warehouse, and parking lot

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
