About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Brand and Content Manager to lead all aspects of Haven Greens’ Marketing function, reporting to the VP Market Strategy and Planning.
Haven Greens is set to launch in January with products hitting retailer shelves Spring 2025. To start, the role will focus on building the brand and marketing foundation while establishing a drumbeat for consumer demand. Once we are fully operational, we need a strategic, analytical and creative team member to plan and launch all marketing campaigns and content across organic, paid and earned channels. This is truly an opportunity to build a brand new brand from scratch and help grow an emerging category. Plus, Haven Greens is a brand you can feel good about knowing we are launching Canada’s first net-zero greenhouse, helmed by a third generation farming family.
The role will require someone who can build, launch and manage new channels and content with very little strategic oversight. We are a lean, entrepreneurial team so we are looking for one team member to lead all marketing planning and execution, meaning you are just as comfortable creating content as you are planning it.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Be the consumer champion. Provide ongoing strategic recommendations for how best to drive consumer demand and position Haven Greens as the number one producer of leafy greens in Canada.
- Owned channel planning and management: Own and build all own marketing channels (website, social, other), monitor performance and implement tactics to optimize performance. Develop creative content to publish across owned channels and engage with freelancers where technical expertise is required.
- Social media planning and execution: Develop and implement social media strategies to drive brand awareness and engagement across multiple platforms, including Instagram and Tik Tok. Lead community management and engagement with the goal of growing a loyal audience.
- Creative Content Creation: Be our content engine and storyteller. Create and curate high-quality, engaging content (including text, images, videos, and graphics). Publish across our owned and earned channels with the goal of sharing the Haven Greens story and winning the hearts of our consumers.
- Brand and growth campaign management: Plan, execute, and oversee marketing campaigns across organic and paid channels (digital, social media, in-store). Lead campaigns that will build our brand, create product love and drive revenue.
- Promotion and sales support: Create and manage promotional materials, including packaging design updates, point-of-sale displays, and digital content to enhance product visibility and appeal.
- Community Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry influencers and chefs, along with our retail and distribution partners to expand market reach and drive sales.
- PR, Influencer and Event Management: In collaboration with an agency, gain industry, media and consumer klout through events, influencer engagement and earned media opportunities. Lead planning and execution, ensuring initiatives deliver on marketing objectives.
- Budget Management: Manage marketing budgets effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and a strong return on investment for all marketing activities.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, cultivation, and operations to ensure alignment and successful execution of marketing initiatives.
- Benchmarking, Analytics and Performance Tracking: Utilize analytics and performance metrics to evaluate the success (ROI) of marketing efforts, providing regular reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in brand marketing, preferably within the consumer packaged goods (CPG), direct to consumer and/or food service space.
- Proven experience (2+ years) creating and publishing content across organic and paid channels. Comfort with multiple content creation formats, including editorial, video, photography. Comfort with content tools like Canva, Adobe, Hootsuite, Sprout and video editing software.
- Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and a keen eye for visual aesthetics.
- Proven experience leading planning, day to day management and content for social media accounts, preferably in CPG, direct to consumer or food service. Strong understanding of various algorithms and best practices for both organic and paid tactics.
- Website briefing, development (wireframes, UX) and management and asset
- Experience launching a net new brand in Canada is an asset.
- Experience leading PR, influencer engagement and events is a plus.
- Experience planning and executing brand campaigns in partnership with a creative agency.
- Experience leading growth campaigns across paid channels. Ability to optimize ongoing campaign performance with experience with various campaign platforms (META, Google) an asset.
- Email marketing and / or CRM experience an asset. Experience leading email marketing and publishing newsletters with high engagement rates.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, media, and external partners.
- Analytical mindset with experience in using data to drive decisions and optimize marketing strategies.
- Passion for fresh produce and sustainability, with a keen interest in the latest industry trends and innovations.
