WHO WE ARE

At Stonebridge Law, we’re on a mission to increase access to timely, high-quality legal services in the Cowichan Valley and beyond. Our approach is fresh, innovative, and community-focused. We’re looking for an in-house Legal Bookkeeper to join our team 4–5 days per week.

WHO YOU ARE

You’re a meticulous, tech-savvy professional with experience in legal bookkeeping. You thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and love finding ways to improve processes. As a key member of our team, you’re personable, proactive, and passionate about ensuring compliance and accuracy in all financial matters.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and trust accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with Law Society of BC accounting rules.
  • Prepare trust cheques and wire transfers for real estate and commercial transactions.
  • Maintain the general ledger, payroll, and benefits administration.
  • Monitor outstanding cheque and trust balances.
  • Collaborate with an external bookkeeper for monthly trust reconciliations.
  • Support financial reporting, budget analysis, and KPI tracking.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience (candidates with BC law firm experience are strongly preferred).
  • Proven experience in full-cycle payroll and compliance with ESA standards.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to manage shifting priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks. We also use Clio as our law practice management software.
  • Eligible to work in Canada and able to commute to our office.
