Job Summary

The Derrick Golf and Winter Club is a Tennis for Life facility. Our tennis program caters to those who are new to the sport at any age, the recreational participants who are looking to stay active and participants who have competed in the past and still enjoy participating in leagues, ladders, or tournaments regularly. Our new tennis facility houses 4 state-of-the- art tennis courts. Reporting to the Tennis Director, the Associate Tennis Professional will assist with overseeing the continued growth of the tennis program for the Derrick Golf and Winter Club. This individual should be outgoing, reliable, possess a vast knowledge of tennis, and be fully committed to providing a fun and safe playing environment for all junior and adult members. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The successful candidate will be required to complete a clear vulnerable sector search. Duties and Responsibilities

· Ensures all operating, program and Club policies are being adhered to.

· Oversees the implementation and growth of all junior and adult tennis programming.

· Attending all sport professionals and tennis department meetings.

· Facility management

· Assist with day-to-day maintenance and housekeeping of the tennis facility.

· Follow all Health and Safety protocols.

· Organize and run leagues, ladders, and tournaments for members.

· Organize club socials and other special events.

Skills and Knowledge

· Minimum Active Tennis Canada Club Pro 1 Certification or equivalent Certification is required.

· Must possess a strong understanding of Tennis Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Pathway and Competencies.

· Must be willing to work with players of all ages, levels, and abilities.

· Member in good standing with your respective Sport Association.

· Experience in planning, implementing, and executing programs from the idea stage.

· Excellent member service, interpersonal skills, and communication.

· Experience organizing and running tournaments, leagues, and ladders.

· Is approachable and works well with others in a team environment.

· Open to new ways of thinking and continuous learning.

· Flexibility to coach early mornings, daytime, nights, and weekends.
