Summary:
Under supervision of the Sailing School Manager, this position entails helping the instructors teach, according to the Sail Canada standards. This involves working hand in hand with the Watersports and Education Administrator, other Instructors and Volunteers to run a safe and fun Sailing Program at the Kelowna Yacht Club. Our ideal candidate is a good team player and able to collaborate with follow instructors but is also capable of working independently running their own lessons. Responsibilities:
- Assist the instructors by helping the kids learn how to sail, paddle board and kayak
- Help the instructors to plan the lessons and give out certificates (Wet Feet, CANSail, Go! Day Camps, Group and Private Lessons)
- Ensure coach boats and safety equipment are prepared every morning
- Welcome students every Monday morning, assist in taking attendance
- Maintenance and repairs of all equipment throughout the summer
Pre-requisites:
- Be age 15 years or older
- Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card
- Coach boat safety certification
- First Aid Certificate (Minimum Emergency Level ‘’C’’ with CPR)
- Signed Sail Canada Coach Code of Conduct
- VHF Maritime Radio certificate an asset

Schedule: Seasonal (July-August, Full Time) - Possible additional work on evenings and weekends and spring/fall with private lessons, sailing team and rentals
