Full job description
Rope Access Technician
We have need for Rope Access Technicians to join our team to bolster our applicant pool for other scopes/clients in the Newfoundland & Labrador onshore and offshore sectors.
RESPONSIBILITIES: What you will do
- Be able to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required of your obtained IRATA Level
- Use Industrial Rope Access methods and related equipment to access and complete a wide variety of inspection, maintenance, and other industrial work tasks
- Encourage participation from operations, technical, and maintenance in developing innovative solutions to problems
- Depending on level, conduct inspection activities in accordance with approved inspection plans and internal procedures
- Create and maintain positive working relationships with clients
- Assist with a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks at heights
- Work with team/client to ensure safety, quality, and professional standards are always met
- Ensure operational safety of all equipment
- Assist other technicians as required
- May also include rescue operations, technical reports, and administrative tasks
QUALIFICATIONS: Your background
- Must possess valid Level 1, 2, or 3 IRATA certificate
- Secondary trade is preferred (i.e. inspection, insulation, electrical, etc.)
- Clean record of conduct
- Offshore regulatory training an asset (i.e. BST, Fall Pro, H2S Alive etc.)
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Must successfully complete mandatory safety training, drug and alcohol screening, medical and meet all qualifications required for work and travel offshore, including physical ability to work at heights, or enter confined spaces
- Knowledge of IRATA International Code of Practice and General Requirements
- Experience working on offshore assets, drilling and production facilities
- Experience working at heights and knowledge of rescue techniques
