They install, maintain, and repair drainage systems. Plumber job description FAQs

What is the difference between a Plumber and a Plumber Apprentice?

A Plumber is an official trade certified by the regulatory governing body of their province. A Plumber Apprentice has not yet received this same certification and is currently working under the supervision of a certified Plumber. The Plumber Apprentice has completed trade school and can work, but must do so under the supervision of a trade-certified Plumber. A Plumber Apprentice may also charge lower rates than a Plumber.

What makes a good Plumber job description?

A job description that clearly outlines the type of work the Plumber is expected to do and in what capacity ( e.g. size of the establishments, hours of shift) is critical to a good job description. Experience requirements should also be clearly discussed . Strong candidates are more likely to respond to a job description that is detailed. The job description sample should be clear and concise, and a competitive salary is a good element to include in a job description sample.

What qualities make a good Plumber?

A good Plumber candidate will demonstrate their ability to analyze and solve complex problems that come up during their installation or repair work. A successful candidate will have adequate plumbing experience, carry a valid licence, and exhibit qualities like physical strength, ability to manage time well, and will prove knowledgeable in all aspects of plumbing, drainage, equipment, and fixtures.

Does a Plumber have different responsibilities in different industries?

Yes. A Plumber working on a residential level will help individuals with their private plumbing issues. This may require installing plumbing fixtures or repairing them, and they are usually called upon as needed. A Plumber in a larger establishment such as an industrial building will perform regular daily inspections to prevent large plumbing issues from occurring. A Plumber in a large establishment will also work closely with other tradespeople to repair plumbing issues within the walls or beneath the surface of the building.
