Depending on the industry, candidates may also be required to have working experience in specific IT sectors, including artificial intelligence, the internet of things, or cybersecurity. 

Chief Technology Officer education and training requirements 

Chief Technology Officers must have a bachelor’s degree in IT, cybersecurity, computer science or other tech-related courses. Candidates with a master’s degree are preferable. However, candidates with a degree in business management combined with a diploma in cybersecurity, web development, data management or other tech-related fields can also be suitable for the position.
