Special Job Posting Types

This policy applies to all employers posting jobs on Indeed. Our goal is to keep job searches simple, clear, and fair for everyone. Each job post should describe one real job so job seekers know exactly what they're applying to.

We understand that some employers use unique or non-traditional application methods. These are fine as long as the job itself is clearly defined. We may remove or hide posts that could confuse job seekers or break these rules.

Policy requirements

General recruitment and applications

Your job should be posted so that:

It matches one clear, specific job
It lists more than one available shift for the same role
You split several roles into separate job posts
You use plural job titles (for example, "Servers" instead of "Server")

Your job post may need sponsorship if:

It's for a specific role, but leads to a general application
It promotes several different jobs in one post

Job fairs, hiring events, and career fairs

Posts that promote or advertise hiring events must be sponsored or submitted through Indeed Hiring Events (IHE).

Advertising your event

This section applies to posts created for the event itself, such as “Hiring Event: Retail Roles”.
These rules apply to all event ads, even when the event isn’t managed through IHE.
For event ads, the job title, description, and location should describe the event, not a single job.

Individual jobs in Indeed Hiring Events

Jobs that are part of an IHE (for example, "Sales Associate" at a hiring fair) must still follow all job posting rules.
The job title and location should describe the specific job, not the event.

Gigs & Short-Term Work Platforms

Gigs and short-term work platforms provide job seekers opportunities that can be single tasks, shifts, or ongoing projects. Workers can accept or decline tasks at any time. These opportunities are often offered through apps or websites that connect clients and workers.

Important: All gigs and short-term work opportunities need sponsorship to appear on our platform.

Gig Requirements

We may allow task-based or shift-based gig opportunities when:

Workers can choose which shifts or tasks to accept
The platform supports real work and guarantees payment
The platform is active in the opportunity's location
Workers can choose their schedule
Workers can refuse any and all work
Workers can leave the platform at any time

Examples include:

Delivery or rideshare apps that operate in your region
Task-based apps offering paid household or online work
Online platforms for regular micro-tasks, research studies, or surveys that guarantee payment.

We do not allow:

Apps that haven't launched yet or don't have active opportunities in the posted location.
"Passive income", fee-based opportunities, pay-to-join offers, or personal referral links.
Tasks that offer a reward for isolated or limited actions, such as taking a single survey for a gift card.
Posts that promote a platform without a real job opportunity
Traditional jobs for other companies or clients (Indeed classifies these as job boards, as would be subject to Indeed's Job Board Policy)
Third-party application forms, like Google Forms.

AI training gigs specific requirements

The job title must include "AI Trainer" (or a similar term)
The salary field should show the average pay per task
If the post doesn't use Indeed Apply, the link must go to the platform's signup or task page
