Adding Job Preferences & Qualifications
Job details are the preferences and qualifications job seekers use to decide if they are the right fit for a job.
Job seekers use preferences to evaluate whether a job is a right fit for them.
- This can include compensation preferences, shifts and schedules, job types, and remote working preferences.
Job seekers use qualifications to determine if they have the professional background and experiences preferred by the employer.
- This can include licences, certifications, years of experience, education, languages, and skills.
Adding job details can help optimize your job’s performance by increasing job seekers’ understanding of their ability to qualify for a certain position.
In search results, job details are displayed as tags. If a job matches a job seeker’s preferences or qualifications, the tag will be highlighted in green to show the job seeker that they are a match to increase the likelihood of their submitting an application.
Options to add job details:
- Job details are automatically extracted from your job description to optimize performance.
- Job details can also be selected manually by editing your job directly on Indeed or using Indexed Jobs Management.
- Lastly, if you are using an external or in-house ATS, you can add details directly to the job description which we will extract and display on Indeed.
Best practices for adding job details:
- Be specific. Specificity can help job seekers understand their ability to qualify for a certain position.
- Keep formatting simple. Avoid writing out longhand numbers or using symbols or extra spaces.
- Describe what is offered. Describing what is not offered may impact how these details are extracted from your job description.
