Some Russian customers can be extremely rude and entitled, or even completely clueless because they are not even fluent in English
This workplace place is mostly suitable for students, who live nearby, and Russians who either barely speaks English or having a problem with finding a job (legally)
Management is hard to describe because most of them are okay, depending on the department) but there is a chance that one of them might not treat you with dignity
The best way to survive at this environment is to do what you are instructed to do and mind your own business
Sometimes extremely high expectations and work standards
Long hours guaranteed
Pros
5% Discount (Not even kidding) on the purchases at the store, excluding certain items, Medical and Dental Benefits if you work full-time (avg. 36h/week) for at least 9 months, some people at work are fun and nice, flexible scheduling if you are a student
Cons
Busy days, especially holidays, benefits are barely even considered as benefits, poor management, Drama, and a lot of other things that will make you hate this place
It seems you are working in Russia,
No good benefits, poor management, long hours, no friendly environment. Work hereof you can not find job maneuver else
Pros
Flexible hours
Cons
Not a good pay, terrible environment
I worked at the Mackenzie Branch last year. My colleagues were not friendly and did not help me as a new employee. The manager part of the deli instead of helping me was leaving at 4pm !!!!
I was with the company for 5 years and I can tell you - if you want to grow as a professional in a retail business GO for it! I am grateful to the company for all the experience I received working there. In my opinion, Yummy Market is #1 Work Opportunity!
Good place to start you working experience.
A lot of people working here are newcomers from Russian-speaking countries.
Not the place to stay long. No appreciation from management for long hours or extra shifts
