Pros and cons

Really great pay and job security, but not enough funding for the board, so almost no support staff. Very hit and miss depending on admin and school location.

Good

Typical Ontario school board, in line with TDSB and follows suit in terms of decisions. Occasional work can be slow, LTOs are hard to get when applying for them but are given away without interviews mid year.

PD Avail andmGood Benefits

The teachers have autonomy and there's opportunity for PD and networking. Each school has it's own culture. I have enjoyed not having to worry about taking time off to see the doctor or such. Drug, dental, etc are amazing to have. However, be prepared for deductions for pension and income tax.
