Typical Ontario school board, in line with TDSB and follows suit in terms of decisions. Occasional work can be slow, LTOs are hard to get when applying for them but are given away without interviews mid year.

The work fluctuates, when its slow its slow, when its busy you can't think straight.The culture is terrible, catty, and outdated.If you are a person of colour prepare for the glass ceiling. No room for advancement/Low pay
The job itself is low stress. Do your work and you’ll be fine. Lots of lazy co-workers who usually seem to get promoted. Management is their own clique which works to get their “friends” in making it hard for a regular caretaker to move up. Pay is complete trash in this day and age, benefits are good but you pay for them and are deducted heavy on the pay cheques. You need a side job to stay abov...

The teachers have autonomy and there's opportunity for PD and networking. Each school has it's own culture. I have enjoyed not having to worry about taking time off to see the doctor or such. Drug, dental, etc are amazing to have. However, be prepared for deductions for pension and income tax.
