Long hours, continental shift

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Pay is below industry standard, you work 12 hour shifts and you have continental shifts meaning you work 2 weeks day shift and then change to 2 weeks night shift. It would completely disrupt your sleep pattern

Overworked employees and very high turnover

Because of 12 hours shift and lots of pressure from senior management, most of the employees are dissatisfied and are looking for different jobs. Senior management is not dealing with pretty high turnover.

Pros

Good exposure towards food processing and packaging

Cons

Long hours, stressful environment, lot of work, breaks are not scheduled

Team spirit / management perks for employees

Lots of activities and perks for the employees. Kindof compensates to a little low salary for the job/positions that you'll work in as. Lots of overtime (optional)

Productive and fun place to work!

Great environment for career growth, they will take the time to train you and support your future goals. This environment is great for new graduates looking to enter their field of study.

Pros

Great People

Terrible management

I was basically given 2 days to learn the way of things and how the work was to be done, then management expected the only 2 employees in the whole building during night shift to complete a work load suitable for 8 people. Bottom line is YaYa foods is trash. To anyone who finds employment there, please do not expect to be properly trained because they're going to rush through training then leave you feeling stranded..

Pros

Well maintained forklifts

Cons

Terrible management

Give it a miss if you are already employed

This is good company if you are a fresher or an immigrant looking to get Canadian experience. Can easily skip if you have experience, there are far better companies out there to work for.

Pros

Cons

No employee review programs, no motivation to employees.

It was a hostile environment

For the little they pay, they expect the world from you. I guess it's a great job if you are new to the country and are use to getting paid badly already

Pros

None

Cons

Long hours Continental shifts, leaving you no time for yourself

It's good place to work. But salary is not good at all.

It's ok to work in this place. I was in receiving and shipping position . If you work in packing, you have to be fast, because you have to follow the line.

Cons

40 hour per week's

A Betraying Piece of Horrible Company

Guys, This company can lay you off anytime. Plus, do not take maternity or parental leave while working here. You will definitely get fired after you return there. These people are such heartless to leave you stranded especially when you have a little life to take care and you need job the most. You give this company more than expected and they also deliver the favor more than expected but never in your favor. Tons of overtime, no work-life balance. Salary is also marginally above the rest.Want to get promoted or want to stay in the company? Learn the skill of licking higher up's shoes. A person makes a mistake and causes company considerable loss and still gets promoted. On the other side, a person is giving everything he got for whatever he does and still gets fired for no reason. Wow, just Wow... I mean favoritism is at its peak in this workplace. Management is seriously a big joke.STAY AWAY !

Pros

Co-workers who will suffer the same fate sooner or later

Cons

Everything

Great place for self development.

The owners make you feel like family. Very caring and considerate to how employees feel. Being respectful to each other is important to the management. Great place to work.

Poor management, no job security, salary/benefits 👎🏻

It was nice working there at first; then after a while, you will see that they dont really care for the workers. You can feel that there’s favoritism from the management, etc. there’s no job security even if you’ve been working there for years, you’ll be surprised that you will be terminated without cause. Too much politics. Salary/benefits is not that much: no seniority either. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Pros

N/a

Cons

Too much work; pushed to your limits; unreasonable supervisors

Culture and Staff

Once hired in the shipping or receiving departments, You're given keys to a forklift to use for the day. When handed the keys to a machine often times their short machines and have too many staff, when asking the lead hand or supervisor if there are more machines the answer is no.. So you oftentimes stand around waiting for something to do and often sent home for lack of work. This goes on for days when I was there it got to the point to where others would leave after lunch. For training there isn't a lot of time for training it's rushed and lots of mistakes are made and others don't take the blame for the work getting messed up..

Fast paced with lots of opportunities to grow!

Within the short time frame since I joined Yaya Food Corps, my knowledge of the food and beverage industry has grown significantly. Passion and dedication are recognized in this fast-paced and rapidly growing company, and are rewarded with larger responsibilities and opportunities to broaden your skillset. Team work and collaboration is encouraged, and most other employees I've interacted with have displayed willingness to go above and beyond to help fellow employees/support projects as needed.

Pros

Hard work is recognized and rewarded.
