Skilled Labourer (Former Employee) – Dawson Creek, BC – 8 February 2018
i was hired on as a laborer but was treated like a lead-hand. I was given duties outside of the scope of my position and while i was verbally praised, I was not monetarily compensated for the effort that I gave. I was expected to go above and beyond regularly and had a good report with my superintendent. Because the work was temporary, the workers that were hired on were expendable and treated as such. The superintendent that I worked under had a wide variety of skills and I learned a lot from him.
the work varied greatly and I learned a lot.
expected to cut corners and do things "good enough"

low pay. long hours. shady deals. inept supervisor and clueless forman. unreadable plans and very few options. never being told what my shift was and constantly shorted hours on my pay check at the end
