Wolseley has been a great place to collaborate and share new ideas. I have support and autonomy from my leader and appreciate the effort made by my colleagues to help me learn and succeed. The company is growing so there are many changes and improvements taking place. The business makes changes and investments based on constructive feedback received.Leadership is approachable and supportive.

Pros

Bonuses, Training opportunities

Cons

Change, many processes still in development

Worst place to work

No support... the Branch area manager will give you answers that may outrage you like " it's not my job". Or "figure it out". If you want to come home angry and stressed everyday due to management wolseley is the place to go. We are just a number to this company which is why all the good people are leaving. The problem is the higher ups have no idea what they are doing and they got into there position because they know someone high up. It's all politics they expect you to purchase, fix pricing work Saturdays...they only pay twice a month as well..

Do NOT work here

No work life balance. Grossly under paid in the industry. Anything you read that says anything positive is a lie. Mice, poor working conditions, nobody is happy. Nobody. Supplies are lacking. Chairs are old and damaged. Grossly under staffed. Reps are leaving. Co-workers are good people. No room for advancement .

Productive and exiting place to work at. Collaborative environment with supportive management. Would highly recommend joining their teams.

Excellent organizational skills , knowledgeable coworkers , supportive management, excellent guest speakers, good work-life balance, nice and enjoyable holidays preparations and employees participation.

Not a cool place to work

No support from staff, not the right place to work unless you know somebody working in the company. You always feel you are not welcome to the company

Great Interview Process

The hiring process was very quick and the HR department was vey responsive to questions or concerns. I received an offer after a couple rounds of interviews. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and eager to help me out with any questions and concerns. Really liked the family atmosphere of the company.

Pros

Remote, benefits after three months, flexibility

Great if you are desperate...

If you need a job, apply, but keep looking! HR doesn’t care and are quite clueless, leading to a lot of discrimination. As others have said, management, if you can call it that, is horrible. The company prides themselves on valuing employees but it is quite the opposite.

Pros

Decent Pay, Work from home options

Cons

Horrible Management, Discrimination

Systematic Racism/ discrimination if you have children.

Hours are long little to know compensation.Co workers are good people. There is no room for advancement. If you have children they TELL you straight you will not get into management. There is racial inequality. No person of colour in any high position. Supervisor was a visible minority and was constantly openly disrespected left out of meetings.

Pros

Always busy

Cons

Everything else

Mediocre and backward place

Culture is lagging in this place. Career prospects mostly cover finance and IT teams. Communication sorely needs improvement. Team goals are misaligned.

Great place to grow your career

Have worked here for over 3 years. Great place with great leadership team and employees. Management dedicated to career development of its employees . Benefits and Salary are competitive. Work life balance and work from home policy are an additional bonus . Employee bonuses and profit sharing available as well.

Corporate Head Office

Very frequent changes in Senior Leadership Team and Management. Understaffed. enjoyed working with sales and customers resolving any credit related issues.

Pros

Supported Special Olympics

Cons

OT required and not paid

A career disappointment....

Was hired as an inventory planner at this company. Most of the people there were very nice, but they had a mass exodus of people in a short period of time and that told me a lot about the company! Training there is fend-for-yourself, with no plan, no job aids and no direction from the team manager. Once onboard, the hours can be very long. From a technology standpoint, they have been taking about upgrading their ERP system for years and have yet to do it. Imagine using technology from the late 80's! I would urge anyone considering a role here to keep moving and look at better companies.

Pros

Nice people and helpful

Cons

Long hours, ancient technology

Worst management. Good company

terrible management. No room to grow. Manager only by title they have no idea how to deal with team. Favoritism is the key to be taking in consideration. Great company with good benefits. Dont work in Supply Chain. Good place to learn how not to manage people.

Pros

Good benefits

Cons

Purchasing managers

Constant change no consistency

Senior management has vision for the future. The company is constantly changing and evolving. Lots of challenges and opportunities but no consistency / accountability. People are friendly but management is self-promoting and self-serving. Unrealistic requests in unrealistic timelines. Job work/life balance is not very good and the workload is unmanageable.

Pros

Friendly people, flexible work hours, clean environment, extra holiday in month of birth

Cons

Unhappy environment, unmanageable workload, poor benefits, poor management

Growing organization!

Great company to work for as there is tons to learn, ability to gain more responsibilities and growth internally. Department teams are very collaborative and willing to help. There is a constant drive for success and improvement. Great autonomy to leave your imprint!

Pros

Free snacks, Extra vacation day on your birthday month, flexible hours

Great place to work and grow your career

Great job assignments to challenge you and provide you with professional growth. Friendly and collaborative work environment from between different departments. Social events happening through out the year to meet other co workers and build professional relationships. Corporate Office is located close to the highway which allows for easy daily commutes.

Pros

Great work culture

Cons

Old processes and managers resisting change

consider working elsewhere

Great place to work if you were very close with management; otherwise you were just another face in the department. Never involved in any projects. I learned that no matter how hard you try or any successful achievements in the company, you`ll never be promoted.

Pros

Free day off in month of birthday

Cons

Lack of management communication; lack of advancement; lack of management commitment

productive and fun company

Great challenges with many new projects on a day to day purpose.. Fun company to work. Very busy daily, lots of support from our manager. Lots of possibility to grow.

Not a good place

Terrible place to work unless poverty is what you want. Management is terrible to their employees. I can't honestly think of anything that made working there worthwhile. Oh, except free parking. Management is rude to all the employees

Pros

none

Typical Large Organization

Publicly Traded Large Organization, worldwide. Trying to change to make things better, become more efficient but they have trouble communicating change well. They also keep changing their mind.

terrible place to work

Pay is terrible. You start at a below average rate, and they promise there is room for growth. Then they start piling more and more work on you, to the point where it is impossible for one person to accomplish. There is never any proper raise or growth in the company. They eventually run you into the ground, while you stay late and do extra work. But never does anyone so much as say thank you. Especially not the managers. The managers think they are better than the rest of the employees and treat them like garbage. You never get a raise, you never move up in the company. If you are trying to be a good employee and stay late or take on that extra workload, they will take full advantage of you and then come to expect it. Stay away from this company.

Pros

most other employees are friendly

Cons

everything
