We generally interview with two people. One to ask the questions, one to write the answers. This also allows a second person to get the real sense of the person being interviewed. Looks as such don't matter, but be dressed decently and don't be chewing gum. Be ready for between a half hour to an hour as there might be a written portion of the interview.
Remember that sometimes the interviewers are just as nervous as the interviewing. We aren't professionally trained HR people so we do the best with what we have.
We try to make it a comfortable environment.
Most interviewers are not properly trained, incompetent and unprofessional when hiring employees. They hire people based on their personal opinion. A lot are very judgmental of physical appearance rather than a potential employees skill set. They lack the ability to defer from a competent employee from an incompetent one.
