Administrative Assistant (Current Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 14 September 2017
WRHA is a fantastic place to work. The staff, management and my colleagues are truly great. It is a healthy environment to work in even when working with such difficult situations in regards to patients health. Would definitely recommend the WRHA to anyone looking for employment.
Pros
Flexible schedule
Cons
Seeing so many sick patients in the hospital

Most of the time it's ok
Health Care Aide (Current Employee) - Winnipeg Manitoba - 7 September 2017
It's an ok place to work. I feel management does not listen to their employees. I've seen so much change over the past 20 years and not all good. We no longer have a choice of going into blocks that are unsafe and have a history of violent incidents. I think maybe it's time to look for a different job. The future of homecare is so uncertain as well!!
Pros
Decent hourly wage
Cons
No choice in being sent to unsafe clients

Overall great job and staff but not enough nurses
Registered Nurse (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 3 September 2017
Overall, this job is great! The staff are wonderful and helpful, however the patient to nurse ratios are so unsafe and sometimes changes that are implemented by management are relatively insignificant and attention is not paid to other details

Health Care Aide (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 23 August 2017
cook meals for clients and clean the home and support my clients in bathing and other daily living tasks. Hardest part of the job was not having enough time to do my job or getting rescheduled or called in on a day off and expected to work lots of shift work on top of getting extra hours added to our days
Pros
good training for advancement
Cons
crazy hours shift work

Home Support Worker (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 11 August 2017
Working for WRHA was a learning experience for meeting new people and how they live. there was a schedule mailed out every 2 weeks with who you would be seeing but sometimes was late which would make things difficult.
Pros
Meeting new people
Cons
Lots of driving

Licensed Practical Nurse (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 10 August 2017
There are many changes with the new MB conservative government so any view I had were based upon a different system. As per nurses I know who are still out in Winnipeg, many nurses looking to move to Ontario or Saskatchewan or leave nursing all together because of the dismantling of the health services by the new government.

Production based work place
Lead Hand (Current Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 7 August 2017
Good work place. Its based on solely production and a numbers based company, its a stressful environment, and the people are good people. The hardest part of the job is making sure the employees are keeping up with the numbers required for leaving the building.

A place where you can build a career
Financial Reporting Analyst (Current Employee) - Churchill, MB - 4 August 2017
A fun and intuitive place. I find my co workers supportive and willing to share information. Corporate finance office is the best place to work. Your month end task can be challenging, but with a friendly team and managers, you can breeze through it.
Pros
3 weeks vacation, work life balance

Nursing Resource Coordinator (Former Employee) - Nursing Resource Coordinator - 25 July 2017
It is a busy area. I have learned to allocate staff, be mindful of the budget in allocating nursing staff and assigning nursing visits.
I have worked with management and collaborated with different members of the team. The hardest part of the job is when you feel that you are not supported and your concerns were not being addressed.
The most enjoyable part of the job was the good working relationships with home care clients and home care nurses and all the Case Coordinators who seemed to like me and missed me when I left the area to move to an office closer to home.

unsatisfactory management system
Home Support Worker (Current Employee) - Seven Oaks, MB - 10 July 2017
The job routine was good, you will meet different people with different nationalities. The management is not that good to their employees and there's no room for the employees for advancement.

It is a difficult place to work in but a great potential for improvement and give a person a chance to shine when improvements are made
and the improvements show a significant result that is measurable and contributes to the welfare of the patients
