Not a great organization. HR is hard to talk to , not helpful. The people who are new are not trained right and do not give good service
Registered Nurse (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 8 August 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? There is no best part . Understaffed, for the last 30 yrs, no improvement in quality life balance on most units. Most of nurses I worked with were unhappy that they had a full time position and said they would leave if there was an alternative. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Management practices, most managers are not sympathetic with scheduling What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Toxic work environment and competitive What is a typical day like for you at the company? Awful , busy , never finish work on time

Diverse clinical practice
Pharmacist (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 27 October 2022
There is plenty of opportunity to advance and diversify your practice when it comes to pharmacy at this site. There are many different clinical areas where clinical pharmacists can practice and specialize, with plenty of support from management and the department of pharmacy to further your education with advanced degrees, board certification, and obtaining your expanded prescribing.

Very structured workplace
Families First Home Visitor (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 17 October 2022
As a government organization, there is a ton of bureaucracy. Program decisions are made top down with little input from front line staff. More time will be spent on paperwork than actually working with clients.
Pros
Pension, helping the community
Cons
Little freedom or ability to enact change. Paperwork is constant and redundant.

Productive but sometimes tough.
Home Care Attendant (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 8 August 2022
It was a good type of job to go to clients home, if you have your regular schedule. Otherwise, it can be a rush day driving around your work area. I think the problem was sometimes about the length of time to provide care and the way some scheduling clerk organize our schedule, but the overall I Liked to work as a home care and help my clients. Also, my RC (Resource coordinator) was very good to help me to dealing with some situations, I cannot complain about him .

WRHA is not for me
Registered Nurse (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 31 May 2022
a company that has no regard for its employees. you are a number, not a person. no matter how long you've worked for them, you are just a replaceable warm body.
Pros
paid vacation, sick days, job security
Cons
everything else

Overall good work culture with flexible hours.
Process Engineer- P.Eng (Current Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 1 May 2022
Some departments are really fast paced. Though some decisions are made slowly due to beauriaucracy. Good work life balance and remote working options based on the role.

Fast paced and sometimes streasful
Home Care Attendant (Current Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 27 April 2022
Can be stressful at times. Adding lots of clients in your schedule. But management give recognition if you're good at your job. You'll meet different clients and culture.

I hoped for more
Community Health Worker (Current Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 14 March 2022
I was always looking forward to wkrking for wrha and now that I have seen how they treat some of their staff I am not happy. Lower paid staff are disposable, they don't care if people get COVID, and aren't willing to accommodate.

Some great people benefits are nil but you don’t pay for them some offices have a toxic culture
Health Care Aide (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 12 March 2022
Worked for the company just shy of 5 years. Started off great won’t get full time unless your there for a while or unless u snag an area no one wants. Lots of phone calls even if your off the clock they call and ur expected to answer. Lots of politics and toxicity in some of the offices you’ll notice the higher turnover rates. Lack of staffing so they’ll jam more people into your schedule. Overall it’s not bad if you like driving around all day and being on the phone clients can be quite challenging with not a lot of back up from upper management when you have an abusive one
Pros
Stability and freedom, unions decent and good out in the field workers
Cons
Takes a while to move up and work culture can be toxic, benefits suck

Relaxed place to work
Equipment Specialist (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 13 February 2022
I enjoyed my job but unfortunately my manager sucks, co workers were great, mostly independent. Most workers are scared to make mistakes cos they always wanna look good, a bit toxic

Used to be better working here but everything has become about numbers and making policies which don't take into account the front line workers
Community Mental Health Worker (Current Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 8 February 2022
This used to an OK company to work for now communication only happens with certain employees by management while others are not told important changes to policy only to find out later. Those in leadership or management tend to be hired from outside the organization or have little experience while others are passed over or not granted an interview. The pandemic hasn't made any of this easier with people adopting their own policies around "working from home".
Pros
The salary is quite competitve, some genuinely good employees who care about the patients they serve
Cons
Incompetent managers, bad leadership, leadership rewards their friends and those with the same beliefs and culture as them, leadership lies about how decisions are made.

Staff were great
Production Supervisor, Laundry Operations (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 2 December 2021
Found upper management took nepotism too far, filling important position with friends who were under qualified. This caused trouble in the general functionality of the workplace.
Pros
Stable hours - Monday to Friday
Cons
Extra unpaid hours, poor support from upper management.

Overworked and Underpaid
Health Care Aide (Current Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 27 November 2021
Poor Management, they really don’t have a clue what the staff deal with and don’t care about the clients. Their priorities are the little things you don’t do rather than the good you DO. Working 7-9 hrs and only getting paid for 5-7….no premiums for working evenings and lousy benefits !!!
Pros
None really…..private sector is better
Cons
Everything …..but helping clients is most rewarding

An excellent and proffessional place to work
Health Care Aide (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 28 October 2021
It was great working there because they gave me my first job opportunity when I came to this country. To that effect i owe the company a debt of gratitude for the great opportunities I had while working there. I was able to develop good friendly interpersonal relationships with others from various culture and background.

Stressful and political
Site Coordinator with Indigenous Health Patient Services (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 17 April 2021
My biss was very political. Also every report I did I did not receive credit for it. We worked for an Indigenous department. The entire team was hard at times because of the lack of understanding of the culture and the communities.
Pros
Benefits
Cons
Political
