Wild Renfrew Pay & benefits reviews: Housekeeper

This wasn't a great company to work for. I was informed when I got there that I might not be well-liked only because I got a job that someone else wanted and that person might be against me. The staff accommodation was nice but that was about it and it was expensive at $700 per month. Also, the hiring process was haphazard. They told me $16 per hour, they tried to get me at $15 per hour, and then I had to fight to get what I was originally offered. On my final pay, they tried to revert back to $15 per hour and I had to produce my email interactions for payroll. Also, they make you sign a contract that stipulates that you don't get paid time-and-a-half unless it's approved by management for overtime hours. However, there is still an expectation that you work time-and-a-half. Also, I had to fight with them to get my final pay paid out in accordance with the labour law. People were edgy at this job and the environment was tense. It was a very strange environment.

Overall not bad - would work there again

Housekeeping was a bit of a gong show only because we were so short staffed when I joined. My experience with the work and my work atmosphere was good, I enjoyed it, wasn’t overly difficult and I did like my coworkers. However the overall management was a bit crazy and sometimes disorganized. The only issue I had was with the pub and pub employees. It’s a very cliquey place and there was some slight bullying. Just beware that if you work housekeeping or guest services that eventually the people at the pub will turn on you and you will be outcastes.

AVOID the Housekeeping department

The supervisor for housekeeping has little to no experience and it shows when she decides to help the rare time. She was never there and complained shes overworked. Dont like your job dont do it. There was no set schedule and everyday was hectic and unorganized. Rude. Demandful. And expects everything from you while giving nothing in return. Disrespects her employees. Does not know how to do time management. Honestly this place is run by low quality people with no experience.
