Utility Labourer (Current Employee) – White River, ON – 21 May 2018
Low pay for an industrial job. Management looks for any excuse to extend probation period beyond the normal 60 working days. Both the sawmill supervisor and superintendent were repeatedly working union positions without making any effort to fill with other employees or do call ins. Quarterly meetings consisted of management complaining to the workers about sub 50% production efficiency and offering no solutions beyond "work harder". HR always absent and notoriously slow to deal with even simple tasks, like posting job bid results.
