The company is great, there are lots of perks for the staff members. The job itself is very stressful as you will have a ton of things on the go at one time and still be expected to make cold calls. It is very difficult and a long waiting period to go from part to full time with no choice of location you want to work at.
Wait time for full time.
If you plan on having a separate life from work don't waste your time applying here and there is not much room for growth. I applied for the member consultant position which I was hired part-time for except they wanted me to be available full time and free even on the days I wasn't scheduled. During my interview process none of the 3 people that interviewed me had mentioned that, even though it was made clear that I had other commitments. Expect to work every Saturday if your'e part time. I tried booking a Saturday off 2 months in advance for a wedding and they had an issue with that. You'll do a lot of tedious unnecessary work, and the environment created makes you feel like you're constantly walking on egg shells, everyones fake nice to one another . Overall I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth.
WFCU is a great place to work but they are very strict in areas that seem odd. Their dress code I think seems stuck behind the other FI's, still requiring suits of the staff on the frontlines. All coworkers know this and you often feel like if you aren't following that dress code like anyone around you could send an email to HR. On the flip side while the salary is... average, they do offer many opportunities, gifts, or thoughtful gestures to entice workers like Sports tickets, gift cards, a CUdos program so coworkers can rate eachother highly for better gift cards at the end of the year (like a merited Christmas bonus in July) and a very nice Christmas party. Stay in line and you will have a good time so long as you enjoy the work you are doing.
Good benefits, many draws for gifts, dependable salary, frequent HR initiatives, morally sound (as it is a credit union)
Very strict enforcement of rules, Environment can feel hostile, management can be aloof
Lots of positive change in this company in the last few years. Increases in salary, communication and employee events and perks. Very busy environment but lots of opportunity.
great coworkers, events
very busy working environment
Professional job in customer service. A lot of perks which is nice. Full benefits even when you're part time which is cool too. Branches run by managers, so you wanna get a great manager and be apart of a good team.
Benefits for PT, Professional
Every Member Consultant starts Part Time, Not All Managers are great

Do these reviews help you learn more about working at WFCU Credit Union?
Before you consider going through the 5 stage hiring process, you need to know a little more about WFCU. Everyone that gets hired though the credit union will be hired part time. Rarely do you get hired full time. Expect to work every single Saturday and Sunday. A typical day is helping members with their cashing of cheques or making deposits. As a consultant you are also to reach goals of over draft, credit cards and loans as well as line of credits. You will be giving a goal of that. Also cold calling, you will have goals for that to. it is difficult and stressful as you usually have a lot of stuff you are working on, but need to help members that are waiting and never getting to finishing the work. Fair warning, do not make a mistake, otherwise start looking for another job, as you will be gone quickly. Your pay with be low 30s either salary or in the range of 15-17. The turnover within this company is the highest i have ever seen. They cant seem to hold onto their employees. For a company that has 200 employees, it is not unusual to see 1-2 employees every two weeks either leaving or being fired. Also be prepared to work an extra 30 minutes a day without pay. so before you consider working with the credit union, just remember the things here. This is not your typical bank job, you will be doing both sales and service. expect stress to come and you will have management on you for every mistake you make.
vacation, personal days
low wage, work longer hours on thursday friday
The typical day centred around meeting with and discussing financial planning and transactions with members. Large amount of information had to be retained about the credit union and its culture as well as training for financial planning for members. Management and co-workers were friendly and genuinely concerned with the success of the team. The best part of the job was working with members and assisting them to achieve their financial goals.
Excellent benefits and pay nice atmosphere and culture to work in
Limited time with each member due to credit union popularity
Hybrid sales/service role, where you take on both the transactional and advisory role with the client. No traditional teller line, customers are brought into an advisors office to do day-to-day transactions as well as receive advice on investments/borrowing. Management and co-workers were supportive. HR policies and perks were excellent.
check in with another employee, would be assigned a concession stands and would go and check in by swiping a card to show what time I came into work at and hand people food (hot dogs, nachos and cheese. pretzels, etc) and beverages as well, when shift was done go back to the machine and check out to know how long I had worked and that's it.
