while i was there i enjoyed my job very much
Warehouse Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Red Deer, AB20 July 2015
WPSL is an agricultural aftermarket wholesale distributor, its busy season was from January to November. Dealerships call or fax in orders that were then picked and shipped as per the customers request. Product was also transfered between its three branches (Red Deer, Regina and Winnipeg). WPSL had a 3 o'clock guarantee, if the order printed before 3pm, it would be shipped out same day. This made pacing and picking efficient paramount. While working for Westward Parts, i can honestly say i learned something new every day. The people that work there made working there even better. It felt like a family and there were only specific instances where asking someone for help was turned down (ie the person you asked was working on a time sesitive job). The pace got very hectic so maintaining a steady pace was necessay to meet the customers expectation. The company has an incredible salary and benefits plan... the best i have ever seen but the best part was the people you work with. Not just in Red Deer but Regina and Winnipeg as well... it truly is a "family" in every sense of the word.
Pros
benefits plan, free bbq at the end of stock order season
Cons
summer gets very busy (which isn't really a con)

not bad, not great
labourer (Former Employee) –  red deer19 March 2013
Management is not bad, nice lady running warehouse. Family company. Had family members working there, however most are gone now, much better than before.

Pickiing orders, packing and sending out. Management is friendly, ladies in the front office sales office are nasty. Think they own the company, treat you badly.

Good summer job, wouldn't make a career out of it though.
Pros
steady summer work
Cons
could be more organized, but not the worst place

terrible place to work
warehouse staff (Former Employee) –  red deer19 February 2013
Family owned company, unfortunately family working there.

Privillaged environment. Owners son works there, plays alot of games, takes advantage of his position, hiring friends, getting time off, payed for trips and time off that has nothing to do with work.

Unorganization, orders and returns getting screwed up, orders getting lost, everyone is miserable and doesn't care. Front office clerks treat warehouse staff like garbage, snotty, snippy and down right rude to warehouse staff. Think they are in charge. Massive turnover, bad reputation. Stay away.
Cons
bad place to work
