Worst Management
Leasing Consultant (Current Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 17 May 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThey are going to ask you to work above and beyond then pay little. They are not very considerate of your opinion, they only care about their own. Not a good place to work with. You have to be a YES person if you wanted to go along with them. Very toxic and only care about themselves. They will try their best to be cheap so they can have bonus for themselves. They are expecting for you to stay longer but not willing to pay for overtime. Not recommended.

You Better Be A YES Person
Maintenance Technician (Former Employee) - Calgary, AB - 8 January 2019
I worked for this company for about 0ne year. In that time I found out your on thin ice for anything you do or say. If you disagree with anything management has to say, pack your bags, you will be gotten rid of. If you rent from them, you will be forced to leave. Who cares, pays lousy anyways, I got a job hauling grain for 3 times the pay I made at Weidner!
I met Mr. Weidner at his apt. building one time, on one of his tours, he asked why the ceiling was not perfect, we are talking about the whole length of the building. All cut up and patched because of repair`s. It would have to be all replaced. But he thought I should fix it. without replacing it. Good luck to you all, but for this job You Better Be A Yes Man!
Pros
Health Car
Cons
On call all nights and weekends, low pay gotta be a yes man!

Supportive, Encouraging, and Empowering.
Community Director (Former Employee) - Stony Plain, AB - 28 December 2018
During my tenure at Weidner, I received nothing but positive support.
I was accepted for my position with no experience, and I was embraced with nothing but a positive attitude and encouragement to embrace my abilities.
Weidner provided me with the opportunity to grow, learn, and to rise to a new level of understanding of this business.
Pros
On-the-Job Training, Supportive Programs and Management
Cons
Restriction in Maintenance Allocation

happy and productive work place.
general maintenance guy (Current Employee) - Prince Albert, SK - 1 October 2018
It's nice to work with people who don't care where ever you came from and i love to work with the people who work not only if the boss are around, i mean they will work because they love their job. Its easy to work if your environment are happy, and the management are easy to talk with about your concern for the company growth. The hard part of the job i can think of maybe if the management promise something that they cant materialized.
Pros
good benefits
Cons
allow overtime

Bad place with bad management.
Leasing Consultant (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 21 March 2018
Don't work for this company. They just use and abuse. Tenants run the show! No training, no support. Based out of the US and doesn't really care about its employees.

Easy but stressful
Housekeeper (Former Employee) - Fort St. John, BC - 28 December 2016
I worked here at one of the smaller properties in Canada. The job was fun and easy, nice people. Good hours, the pay wasn't great but okay. There were a few downfalls, such as restraints from head office. To much unnecessary changes made almost weekly. As a smaller northern property it's like we were the bottom of Weidner, no real recognition from head office. The local office people were great to work for, but a lot of staff turnover in the year and a half I worked there because of the drama with head office. Rent discount was good but not much of a deal for our property. All over a decent place I guess.
Pros
Rent discount
Cons
Head office controversy

Really Enjoyed This Job
Leasing Consultant (Former Employee) - Alberta - 4 November 2015
The only downfall to this job is the pay. Working in the rental office is very stressful, and most of the time it didn't seem worth the pay. Working in property management is a very hard job and when it got hard, it was hard to find a reason to stay. The benefits are good, you're basic coverage that every other company supplies, just the wage gap from the office staff to the service is kind of ridiculous. Almost like retail pay. The only reason I had to leave was because I needed to cut back hours to part time and they weren't able to oblige. I probably would've had to move on because the pay just isn't worth the stress of the job and trying to pay bills. The management was awesome and always had you're back when facing a difficult situation. Everyone felt like family. We always celebrated birthdays and what-not and go for lunches together. Very focused on team-building. I would definitely consider coming back.
Pros
Monday to Friday with hour lunches
Cons
Really poor pay
