No future in retail business. Slave work. Bad store manager. Every manager gets caught up in policy except Produce manager. Workplace dehumanizes everyone.

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Mississauga, ON10 June 2018
A big portion of whether you enjoy your time at work or not is your manager. I had a nice friendly manager so she was flexible and allowed me to work the hours I wanted but not all managers were like that.

Customer Service (Former Employee) –  Calgary, AB7 June 2018
The most I liked was interacting with people with different cultures and feeling that you are part of society as well. The assistant managers who were educated , would know their responsibilities very well and respect anybody.
Pros
first aid class
Cons
very short shifts in a week

Sales & Customer Service Specialist (Former Employee) –  Surrey, BC4 June 2018
Productive and fun work environment, you get to meet plenty of new people. Coworkers are friendly, and easy to work with. Primary focus is on customer service, sales, and loss prevention. Management is usually friendly, and hardworking. However, can be very frantic, especially with the training of new personnel. Overall 3/5 rating.

Customer Service (Former Employee) –  St. John's, NL1 June 2018
This place was ok to work with for a start. I had no plans to stay there. It was not all the time a happy place as the managers just walked around while you're doing your work. Little help and not really pay attention to your concerns. Pay was bad too.
Cons
Managment was not good, Bad pay, not happy staff

It's a busy working environment where numerous people come and go. You are always on your feet and communicating with people. There is always something to do and organization is key to success.

Walmart is a very great company but it has some flaws too.
Customer Service Associate (Current Employee) –  Mississauga, ON26 May 2018
People at workplace are quite friendly and adjusting. Managers are very understanding but sometimes too moody. I can easily change my shifts if I have some other important errands to take care of. My managers listens to me well. overall as an associate, I am very much satisfied with my part-time job.

Sales Associate/Customer Service (Current Employee) –  St. John's, NL24 May 2018
Low pay, never enough associates, abusive customers that believe you owe them the moon. Turning into Walmart USA. They keep reducing hours and expecting more to be done. You will end up loving your co-workers.
Pros
Best co-workers you could ask for, you end up becoming a family in the war against the customers and corporate.
Cons
Customers, pay, expectations.

CUSTOMER SERVICE SPECIALIST (Former Employee) –  Waterdown, ON11 May 2018
at the specific location management was often rude and only cared about themselves, did not care about employees of the store, other co-workers were mostly very friendly and became good friends with some co-workers. Other co-workers who were looking to advance within company were only concerned with themselves.
Pros
Chain of Stores, Good Pay
Cons
Bad Management, Bad Stuff

Gives you the freedom to take your job as far as you choose. Managers are very helpful and reward you for consistent good behaviour and work ethic. Work culture is kinda boring, but not too difficult.

Great environment with great coworkers however management needs work. A typical day at work includes lots of easy yet rewarding tasks and the hardest part would be dealing with certain managers
