Okay for job while in schooling
Cashier/Customer Service (Current Employee) –  Amherstburg, ON15 April 2019
This is a pretty good fob for someone who is in high school and college as if you give them your hours they are willing to work around them and it is also a fairly easy job.

Horrible management
Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) –  Guelph, ON12 April 2019
My review is for the Walmart Stone Road and management over there sucks!! Most of the management (minus a few) is rude, uncooperative and somewhat privileged. They act as if they know everything but trust me they are horrendous at their job. Store manager is ok but she listens a lot to very incompetent managers who are nothing but toady. Just imagine a guy calling himself a manager who was not too long ago a security personnel. You will always see him roaming the floor with higher ups acting all reasonable but in reality is plain rude, manipulative and at best shoddy. Worst place to work as for them you are nothing but a "robot" with no social or family life and are just living your days for Walmart.
Pros
Co workers
Cons
incompetent management

Difficult without a lot of training
Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) –  Vegreville, AB11 April 2019
Serving customers, and cashier. Put in positions without proper training. A lot of gossip. A lot of disfunction. Given one day training to work in the accounting department. In customer service, there were too many different instructions on what needed to be done. You didn't know what was the right way.

not a fun place to work
Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) –  Grande Prairie, AB11 April 2019
Managers aren't very polite or understanding to staff and don't take pride in their employees, Walmart is also a poor place to shop. There's this one supervisor who is very ignorant to her employees and has several complaints about her to head management and still nothing has been done about it.. Poor place to work.

A very welcoming environment to work in.
Cashier/Customer Service (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON9 April 2019
I have learned a lot in the past couple of months. This company has many pros and a few cons, but it really is a decent environment to work in. If you maintain their ways and give it all you have, I do believe you will enjoy working at Walmart's.

typical retail
Cashier/Customer Service (Current Employee) –  London, ON6 April 2019
Lovely people that work here and most are very helpful either solving customer dilemmas or helping others find more shifts to round out a slow week. Management communication to general staff needs some work but then again that is the same as with other retail venues
Pros
nice people
Cons
low hours on part time

Good people, bad leadership.
Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) –  Kamloops, BC28 March 2019
I appreciated the people there and what they did for the people, but the management had little to no idea what needed to be done on the day to day. A lot of easily avoidable mistakes with regards to overall resource management, as well as allocation made it harder then it should have been to conduct day to day operations- with many stalls, controllable and uncontrollable.
Pros
Fun co-workers
Cons
Dislike-able upper management

It was a great position with flexible hours. Management was easy to get along with and very friendly. Learned a lot from talking to customers and had good product knowledge. The most enjoyable part of the job was constantly being active and walking around the store to help customers.

Walmart is a place for people looking for stability. You get to choose your hours, managers were flexible and friendly. There is an opportunity to grow in the business if you wish to do so.

Good first job, but not somewhere to stay.
Customer Service Associate/Cashier (Former Employee) –  Port Coquitlam, BC8 February 2019
If you enjoy working with the public that may be the only benefit to this job. Unkind environment to work in, and its unfortunate to say that management is not too kind either, as well as the little pay with no room for growth. A good seasonal, or temporary job for students, but it becomes mentally draining, and physically trying. This workplace would not be recommended to those looking for a permanent position.
Pros
Experience with the public
Cons
Unfair management, long hours, bad pay
