A typical day working at Walmart would deal with customers that are looking to exchange or return products. This may include dealing with issues such as proof of purchase. I learned that it is assuring to ask management for when there are situations like so. The job is enjoyable but can be stressful on busy days.
The workers are overworked and the hours of work make it impossible for you to find better employment. The poor attitude of management makes the customer hostile to you on the register if you are unfortunate enough to get sent there to work. Management positions are better paid but they are are all stressed out because of the ridiculous daily unachievable demands. Don't get stuck working here because then you will have such terrible hours that you will not have time off to find a better job or to take a class or something.
Profit shares and other employees are very nice
Poor pay for extreme work load
I worked with in the company for almost 3 years and loved every moment of it. I made a lot of friends and always had a good time going into work as everyone was so friendly and they became family. As a cashier and also self check out attendance the job was not difficult at all, the hours were decent about eight hour shifts each. The breaks are amazing as you do get more Breaktime then you would at any other position I’ve had in the past, Approximately an hour lunch for an eight hour shift plus 15 breaks in between. You were never expected to do more than what’s outside of your pay grade which allows you to focus on your job and do it well. We did a lot of training every couple months which was actually really great because it allowed me to develop different skills and understand how to problem solve in certain situations that I can take with me for the future. One of the best jobs I’ve ever had as a student as the hours are very flexible, the management is very understanding and you were always able to find somebody to switch shifts with you or take your shift as there is a lot of employees.
Not enough advancement to a higher position
without a doubt the worst job i have ever worked. Was promoted to Support Manager within months but came to realise its all politics. Management brings in people from different countries to work as management for cheap and with no experience. Extremely racist if you are not one of their own. Would stay away from this horrible place.
I enjoy working there. People are friendly and nice. I wish they would accomodate students more better. They need to staff more peopel for efficient work. Some days are very disorganized causing a ripple effect for the rest of the days.
need more staff
The most important thing about Walmart is Customer service and secure environment. Most enjoyable part of this job is to satisfy the customers and fulfill their needs to make them happy
