I enjoyed working with the customers and fellow employees at Walmart. There was ample room for advancement but sometimes the more qualified were overlooked. I felt the pay could have been better but they do offer a discount to employees which helps to understand the evaluations for pay raises.
Walmart is good for students for people who are retired who don't need very many hours ... It is not good for people who need it as a way to pay bills ... Walmart does not work with other places so if you wanted another part-time job you will have a hard time doing that
It would be good for students or people who are retired
They don't give you the hours you need to support yourself
Unorganized, unproductive work environment, management is two faced and uncaring, shifts are unreliable and inconsistent, alot of repetitive unproductive work, not enough workers for the amount of work they require you to get done.
I really liked the customers, I loved the CSMs, but the managers were unmoving when it came to my schedule. I tried to make sure that I could work here and be at university. I had classes four days a week, out of town all day. they wanted me to work the "other" four days a week. when I left, my last day, my manager avoided me and didn't tell me I had to do an exit interview. Another manager had to tell me
What can I say about the Walmart experience that no one else knows or has experienced? The management ranges from lazy to incompetent, there is zero drive within team members, and the overall ambiance of the place is melancholic. No one wants to work there and no one is ever excited about coming to work, but hey, it's a minimum wage job that will put ramen on the table for you.
Management is tough to work for. Other full time and part staff are amazing to work with. They treat people differently some like myself were required to do more than others. They never seemed to replace workers once they left. Management is thier downfall
other full and part time staff, discount card
Management, Hourly Rate
You will be lucky IG you get a ten cent wage per year. People who just get hired make more than employees who have been there for years due to starting wage increases. Good for students, not good for full time employment. Managers suck
Friendly coworkers, fairly easy work
Managers are rude
I loved my job at Walmart it was a great environment with tons of friendly people and i thoroughly enjoyed going to work everyday. In July there was a big company change and management has been treating myself and other employees with 0 respect and absolute disgusting behaviors towards us. currently I am on a probation for being off with a head injury where Walmart will refuse me if i try and apply for any jobs within the company and keeps threatening termination of my job. It is myself an numerous employees also in this situation. Walmart management are overall terrible people
The only downside side is that I only work part time and my hours have dropped and I can not live on what I earn. You can approach the managers and they will answer any questions you may have,
Very busy store but can be very satisfying. Great Team atmosphere. As a customer service manager I was able to learn most front end positions which was quite interesting and enjoyable. If this company moved more towards full time positions rather than very P/T positions it would be an excellent job for anyone who loves to work with the public.
