A typical work day at walmart is helping out any customer that needs help with assitance or directions. I learned alot while just being in the short amount of time. The management is great. Also there was nothing hard about this job, it was my first job and i loved it. I enjoyed being apart of a work environment.
Walmart is not as family orientated as many people assume, while they do offer great incentives and amazing benefits the pay scale is sub par. Regardless of how long you have worked for them more often than not new hires would be making more as a cashier than associates who had been working there for years prior. If you are not someone that management likes your work life balance is tipped too far to the work side
It's not managed properly and they don't have proper training for their associates. They just put associates anywhere when they need coverage and expect them to know what they are doing even if they have no experience. The pay is poor they don't pay you enough to deal with the stress that comes with working there. They have a department manager that over half the staff doesn't get along with and they allow her to continue working there and make other associates quit. I could go on about how bad of a workplace it is but I don't want to waste anymore time on it.
I’ve worked in customer service for years and this is one of worst places to work. The benefits are alright, and the raise is ridiculous. If you have to work here, then do so. They put me as part time so I don’t get the full benefits, even though I worked full time hours
Working at Walmart was great. The managers are good, the workers are good. Being in customer service you do deal with people who don't understand the return policy, so the managers come and help. Best part about working at Walmart is the workers there. They can be amazing and funny to work with
Work was fun and the hours were steady with a decent pay, enough to pay most of the bills as a single person. No bad vibes and actually miss working there lol
Employee discounts free coffee or on some occasions free snacks!
Maybe a bit higher pay with today's expenses for comfy living
i cleaned classrooms everyday on a typical day at work, i learned that cleaning is fun to do, making friends is easy, my manager was super nice and sweet, the hardest part was moving the stoves back into the classrooms. the fun part was every Friday where my boss would just sit and talk with us
waiting for the food
The Walmart staff are very open-minded, kind, and understanding. I felt very comfortable working in this environment and I didn't feel any pressure at all. There was plenty to do and it was good for self-growth and acquainting myself with the idea of integrity.
most enjoyable part of the day is meeting someone new everyday, listening, talking, about what you did this past weekend. enjoy the company of others.
Honestly, I did not enjoy my time working there. In the beginning, I did enjoy the hours, people, and customers; but after awhile I noticed some things I did not agree with. The management liked to abuse their power, and treat me like a slave, rather than an employee. Demanding I do something that wasn't in my job description and something they were told to do.
During my time as a Sales Associate I have met a ton of new people. I maintained my good work ethics and was always loving every minute of learning the details of the cell phones. I enjoyed myself in the Walmart environment. & look forward to possibly becoming a member of the team again.
Benefits and the familiar environment
a typical day would be easy at first but there was a problem with people calling in, management wast the greatest. hardest part of the job was unloading the truck and trying to put all of the stock out in a days of work due to people not showing up to work
an hour lunch break
