As much of the team working at Walmart are great and all work hard on what they need to do, But Walmart is a big company with a lot of rules. Be willing to talk your heart out to the next person that comes though your till hoping that he/she will walk away with a Walmart Master Card.
There is a large rate of turnover at this job which makes it hard to build a good community atmosphere. It is an easy job once you figure out what to do - since I received zero on the job training or guidance. There is a lot of theft and it feels very unsafe working alone at night being so close to Tent City.
Started out as an ok place to work but bad management that doesn't seem to care much about employees or what they do. Huge lack of accountability and a lot of finger pointing for stuff not done or done correctly. A constant revolving door of employees and managers too. Lack of proper WOKING tools to do the job. The co-workers were great and felt like family.
Good co workers
too many to list
Friendly / open minded people I work with. Suitable for my time/energy / fun. Loved to work in back, doing receiving and shipping Very good teamworks I worked with. Can finish everything before the end of the shift.
over time when asked
this is my first job in canada and i was very lucky that walmart hired me at my first attempt. it is great place to work, all day busy helping customers.
Its a minimum wage job. I've been working at for two years, it isn't a bad job but a lot of the employees don't care about the job and collect a pay check, it makes more work for those that do take it seriously.
It’s a level entry job. You will constantly be on your feet, so expect to work hard. Absolutely great for experience as you can be cross trained anywhere though it may take time. You do not always need to wait six months and apply. Good communication and teamwork is very important in a fast paced environment. You may have your odd hours and may have a week that consists of closing shifts depending on where they really need you. If you do your best to help out your team and what is required of you, you will make many people happy. Just do your best, admit when you’ve messed up somewhere, and try to learn from it. Cheers!
One hour break during an 8 hour shift, included with two fifteen minutes
Rude customers, being on your own during busy times, freezing rain, people leaving gross items in carts
Most enjoyable part of the work is fast paced environment and flexible working hours. Big company and the location is near my home so that I spend less in commuting from home to workplace.
Not too much to say about it, management doesnt care about your life or your needs. Employees that dont do their fair share are never or rarely dealt with.
Some coworkers can be good like anywhere else
how you get treated as an employee by both customers and employer.
