Working at Walmart is an easy job to help you obtain the skills you need for future jobs... fast paced, lots of different people so you can develop people skills, many different departments for you to learn about products and inventory.

I enjoyed working for Walmart every shift I worked. I would work again for this company as enjoyed it so much. The only reason I quit was to be home to care for my very ill husband.
Pros
Meeting lots of friendly customers and working with great people
Cons
standing on my feet all day

Personally I prefer work that is fast paced and keeps me moving, at Walmart I found myself standing twiddling my thumbs doing nothing for hours. I enjoyed working there for the most part, it just wasn't what I enjoyed doing. But the hours were good and so was the pay, just not my type of work at the time.
Pros
Good pay, nice management, good benefits
Cons
Slow, and boring

Walmart use to be a great place to work but with so many job cuts and the expectation of one person to do the work of 5 it's exhausting. Not to mention the poor management and very little pay. However, I love the hours and flexibility for time off.

I always look forward to heading to work each and everyday. The other staff members are always willing to help each other.

While the walmart environment was a great spot for a student or part time employee, i cannot in good faith reccoment this company to any person that wants a long term place of work. the company tries to entice its employees, and offer them promises of advancement and opportunity. this is not the case, the store has a ceiling, and only a select few manage to breach it. associates are hired on as part timers, and given full time hours, only to be cut back every 9 weeks, to avoid giving them part time. useless employees move up into higher positions, because they know the right people and can play the social games, and the hard workers remain trapped in their menial positions because they are hard to replace and valuable.
