Each store has good and bad things. It was great working at a store with a good team. Stores with not such a good team were tough. People a generally good but everything depends on what your store manager wants to do and their personality.
Pros
Great benefits

they ask you to do a year of nights

At Walmart every day was a new journey, some days were very stressful. I enjoyed working at Walmart my only issue was working nights, as part of the management team it was mandatory. The most enjoyable part of this job was interacting with lots of people.

Better opportunities and policies are clear and available at any given time. Loved working with them for the first 7 years then there was a downfall with change of CEO.

No respect for the individual. Retaliation is the norm from the Store Managers. Constantly in fear of losing your job. You're flat out told that you are expected to sacrifice your family life to keep your job and if you want to keep any hope of moving up.
Pros
Decent salary
Cons
Terrible work life balance

Great culture to be in. Team treated each other with respect and dignity. Work is done on time, Priporities are set and deadline are met. Team building, motivating and transforming was in deed a great leaning experience.

Very fast-paced environment and constantly on-the-go. Must be able to multi-task and think of many things at once. Must be able to accept constant change. The only thing that will ever stay the same is that they are always changing! It you can't accept this, it will drive you insane!
Pros
opportunity to contribute and feel valued, possibility of advancement like no other
Cons
work/life balance is brutal for management, very high commitment to your career needed
