Each store has good and bad things. It was great working at a store with a good team. Stores with not such a good team were tough. People a generally good but everything depends on what your store manager wants to do and their personality.
they ask you to do a year of nights
At Walmart every day was a new journey, some days were very stressful. I enjoyed working at Walmart my only issue was working nights, as part of the management team it was mandatory. The most enjoyable part of this job was interacting with lots of people.
- Walk the store note any issues - You don't learn much for personal skill, but you learn more about walmart day to day. - Upper Management docent like to lift a finger , ASM take most of the work load. - People are usually miserable, but stick around for the salary. - Un realistic exceptions with limited pay roll. - Amazing Salary if you are in management, you meet people from all walks of life.
Salary, Benefits, Vacation time
Long hours, lots of physical labour, odd weekend off
No respect for the individual. Retaliation is the norm from the Store Managers. Constantly in fear of losing your job. You're flat out told that you are expected to sacrifice your family life to keep your job and if you want to keep any hope of moving up.
Terrible work life balance

Great corporate culture. Opportunities abound beyond anything you have ever experienced and they are available to everyone that is willing to learn and work hard. Very fast-paced environment and constantly on-the-go. Must be able to multi-task and think of many things at once. Must be able to accept constant change. The only thing that will ever stay the same is that they are always changing! It you can't accept this, it will drive you insane!
