The most useful review selected by IndeedStaff and management were very good to work with and supportive. You get a an employee discount card after you have worked for 3 months. Difficult to work some shifts if your not young. Fast paced.

Insights into Walmart
Areas for improvement
- Fair pay for job
- Sense of belonging
- Support from manager
Sorry, I don’t have words to say.
Customer Fulfillment Associate (Current Employee) - Abbotsford, BC - 14 August 2022
Very Bad experience. I will never suggest this job to anyone. No one in management helps in any situation as they even don’t try understand an associate’s problem.

You’ve Been Warned
Co-Manager / Assistant Manager (Former Employee) - Fort McMurray, AB - 13 August 2022
There is a time and a place for employment with this company. My experience has shown me it’s never the company, but the actual leaders within each store. A disproportionate amount of garbage and insecure leadership concerned only with covering🍑with little or no regard for shareholders or associates. This despite the hype and pr campaigns

It’s inclusive and fun environment
Customer Experience Sales Floor Associate (Current Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 13 August 2022
It’s a good place to work however when it comes to the shift or hours, for me it’s the worst because they have flex part time which means working maybe 4 hours a month. Rather than that it’s an inclusive and fun place to work.
Pros
Associate discount
Cons
Few hours and days

Great first job
Cashier/Self-Checkout Attendant (Current Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 13 August 2022
Walmart is a great place for a first job and easy to get promotions with open availability. Mangement is overly controlling and almost always understaffed due to so few hours being given
Pros
Easy to get hired
Cons
Terrible work/life balance

Cashier (Former Employee) - Burlington, ON - 10 August 2022
- Not a bad first job - management was good - have accommodated for my needs - A lot of standing - gives a lot of opportunities to work overtime - Can be promoted easily

Ok place to work
Department Manager (Former Employee) - Peterborough, ON - 10 August 2022
Easy to get hired, impossible to get fired unless you get caught stealing, you can call in sick for every other shift and you’ll still have a job Dept managers do the work of assistants without getting paid to be assistants, the only people who become assistants are the ones who suck up. Work/life balance is ok if you don’t have a family, being open until 11pm may interfere with seeing kids/spouse. Pay is ok I guess but with inflation they definitely need to rethink what they pay associates

Terrible
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Laval, QC - 10 August 2022
It was terrible working at Walmart. I wouldn’t recommend. Managers have their heads so far up their you-know-what’s to car about what the floor workers actually have to complete. The only good thing was they were fine with calling in sick

Will hire anyone with only a criminal record check
Overnight Fulfillment Associate (Former Employee) - Truro, NS - 10 August 2022
Revolving door company. Management and employees alike. Typical day at work, expecting that neither of the 2 other shifts did any amount of work. Stressful watching employees stand around doing next to nothing but will try to get credit for the work of others. Management and HR are untrained, unknowledgeable , and thus unhelpful. Employee training is watching videos and answering questions about the video. Management will give you the answers to the tests if you fail. Little or no health and safety rules followed. All Walmart cares about is that the employee just show up for work, not to do work. Just make sure you have a good criminal record check.
Pros
Easy hire process
Cons
Too many to list !

Customer Service Manager (CSM) (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 9 August 2022
They don’t pay you enough .. over a decade with the company and I get paid a little over minimum wage .. the yearly raise is about .30-.40 cent .. which is garbage . Managers treat you bad.
Pros
Coworkers
Cons

My team is great! Not everyone is as lucky…
CAP 1 Associate (Current Employee) - Summerside, PE - 9 August 2022
I genuinely enjoyed working here, my team was very supportive and it was fun. My manager was phenomenal and very accommodating of my needs. However every team in my location is understaffed and overworked. Half the management team is useless, and the other half are working a billion times harder because of it. Organization? nope Team work? nope Anyone knowing what’s going on? nope Talk to your local walmart employees before applying, and listen if they tell you to run. They’re being generous.

Customer Service Specialist (Former Employee) - Kamloops, BC - 8 August 2022
Walmart sucked the life out of me while I worked there. The definition of over worked and under paid. Incredibly cliquey and an overall very stressful environment

Produce
Walmart Associate (Former Employee) - Brockville, ON - 8 August 2022
The manager is fixated on reduce bags and going through mouldy produce to save a dime rather than use employees time productively filling fresh product out front. When you make a complaint you’re told not to take it personally by management.

Excellent and Fun
Cashier (Former Employee) - Walmart Ottawa - 7 August 2022
The work was fast paced and challenging but the management is very supportive and you would get through. The credit card selling pressure is intense but rest all good.

Walmart
OMNI / sales floor (Current Employee) - Dartmouth, NS - 7 August 2022
Walmart is a great place to work if you're a student. you can get decent and flexible hours and this job isn't hard in any department. if you need to pay bills and such maybe consider getting a second job cause you don't get paid enough here.

Employee
CashierWalmart (Current Employee) - Cochrane, AB - 7 August 2022
I enjoyed my time as a cashier at Walmart. Fellow employees were great as were the CSM’s. The wages were not great. The always asking for donations, I disliked!! The selling of their credit card, I didn’t like.
