Was a good place to work at until new manager came in

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Job and the shop was fantastic to work at the manager who hired me was amazing, he left and they brought in a new manager who destroyed the branch. Lots of people either quit or got fired by him.

Pros

Great work life balance and good benefits

Cons

Management needs to be better

Best by far

Best job by far. Great place, friendly co workers, management is great… some flaws in procedures but nowhere is perfect. So happy I work here now. A lot of perks and the tool allowance is great!

One of a kind

Cool people, fun work, great culture because of the managers. They take care of their people. Safe place to work. Safety culture is one of a kind. One of the best companies I ever worked for.

Would recommend

The company made a lot of improvements before I left. Even though I’m no longer there, I left on amicable terms. I would recommend Wajax to anyone looking for work they can feel proud of.

#1 in diversity

Management is VERY intentional about creating a diverse work environment. If you’re the kind of person who thinks EOE is just reverse-racism, keep looking because this will not be a good fit for you.

Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt

It’s glaringly obvious to me that everyone who’s complaining about management hasn’t worked for a company where they’re actually treated poorly. Managers aren’t supposed to hold your hand, people! Perhaps try to hold yourself accountable if you’re not a good fit instead of trash talking your managers online like children.

Managers want us to succeed

I feel like this goes without saying for any job quite frankly, but showing some initiative and asking a lot of questions will get you as far as you want. The beautiful thing about Wajax is that the managers genuinely want everyone to succeed, and they do everything they can to make that happen for the right people.

Very poor experience

Unfortunately, leadership is misguided, full of micromanagers claiming they don’t like to micromanage and are unable to handle confrontations where required. There is no training for the jobs and where people are unable to do their roles, you will be left to pickup the slack. Toxic work environment where the tenured are unwilling to accept change.

Absolute donkey show

TERRIBLY RUN COMPANY; langley location is run by a bunch of halfwits, union and management does not seem to care about employees (especially apprentices; goodluck trying to learn anything) Pay is way too little and they don’t bother negotiating raises, unions does nothing to support its workers.Management is two faced and they like to lie a lot, goodluck trying to get them to help you out. Management does nothing to teach apprentices, or acclimatize apprentices to systems or work policies, kinda just get thrown to the wolves. Wouldn’t even recommend this job to my worst enemy because they don’t deserve this type of screw around.

Pros

Shop guys are a really really good group

Cons

Literally everything

Terrible middle management

Pushed past your limits. Disciplined for things beyond your control. Management could not organize any jobs. Co workers in the shop created a great atmosphere. Ample training given to certain employees depending on who you are.

Pros

Shop environment

Cons

Stressful, disorganized

Absolute worst place i haver ever worked at

The only pros was pay was good and hours worked. This company does not care about employees and the management is lacking in what it takes to keep employees . The manager was the biggest liar and backstabbing person i have ever dealt with, would turn staff against each other and stand back and almost be amused. The way this place is ran is a joke, was working for this company for several years and never had a feeling of security. Has gone downhill bigtime and lost alot of good people and business. If you are really stuck for a job till you find something this is your place but dont stay too long or it will wear on you. Corporate has no clue how to maintain people or business and has drove this company into the ground. Work for a different company now and have changed their minds of getting work done there or to even buy any parts. Company is on a disaster course.

Pros

Pay and hours of work and fellow co workers

Cons

Absolutely everything else

Horrible Place to work

Horrible place to work. Dartmouth branch I can say for sure. Management is horrible, and shop foreman use to bully and name call.... HR wouldn’t do a thing.

good place to work at,

good management that interacts with employees on a regular basis, health and safety conscious, provides in-house training. regular feed back sessions on worker issue.

Pros

Cons

Not great / Not horrible

Training provided is great. In terms of pay rate and how to advance within the company its very difficult to understand as everyone is considered and treated different. Some people are promoted just because they applied regardless of experience. Some advance because they are very good and others advance for no reason at all?

Pros

Training, Short Shifts

Cons

Rarely any overtime. Poor methods of advancement
