Fun place to work

Indeed featured review

Wajax is a good culture which is tough to find but I find the communication could use some improving in management and maybe better pay with our current inflation issue in Canada

Kudos to the management team!

Great place to work with good people. You can count on your managers to take care of you and they listen when we share our concerns. You don’t see that a lot in this business.

Went from best to worst place to work in 3 years

Used to be an envied place to work specializing in Detroit engines and Allison transmissions, now it’s just a place that treats you like garbage. Some Contractors refuse to work for them, employees are treated like disposable gloves and management is clueless and rude. It is disheartening to see a company I used to like working for get so bad and treat people so terribly. Absolutely disgusting. I definitely don’t recommend this employer to anyone.

Decent place, only to be ruined by awful management.

Had a lot of potential to be a great place to work. The people are very nice and friendly, everyone is always willing to assist in any way they can. Benefits are average. Work environment is out dated but functions well. It's unfortunate that management is so poor. Employees are looked at as numbers and even when there are very obvious issues nothing is done to correct them. Management is more concerned about their bonuses then they are about the well being of their employees or customers. Customers are not treated with respect and cheated regularly just to get the numbers management desire. The turn over rate is very high due to the amount of unqualified personnel in higher up positions. Employees are miserable and scolded for anything they do. They would benefit very much if they got rid of several managers and hired more qualified personnel that know how to treat people and run a business. The constant back stabbing and unprofessionalism among mangers and personnel in higher up positions is why I would not recommend this company.

several mangement changes getting worse with every new face

Decent hours with a good core base of employees. New hires or transfers from Wajax Equipment are treated like gold while the rest are neglected. Absurd safety policies put together by people with no obvious knowledge or technical capabilities of job requirements. The employees who have common sense are good to deal with but are in short supply. Focus is needed from upper magement in, are we servicing heavy equipment, repairing Detroit/Mercedes Engines or selling belts & hoses? The most enjoyable part is leaving at the end of the work day.

dayshift only, good benefits

lack of direction from manangement & false promises

great people in the mechanic shop, management is something lacking in humanity. Just mind your own business and dont get into any trouble and youll be fine.

Great place!

Past paced environment but a great place to work. Good benefits and flexible with your needs. Great place to start your career in the heavy equipment field.

Horrible place to work as an apprentice

Probably the worst place i've worked as a mechanic.. Hired as a 3rd yr forklift mechanic and had me doing mostly labour work 90% of the time. Had 4 forklifts in the shop in 3 months, never given so much as a pair of coveralls or a computer for diagnostics.. pulled off jobs working with journeyman to escort trucks to local repair shop and wash vehicles or to do parts run. Requested to work on field equipment to gain experience and was denied.. lots of time working in the shop with no equipment, mechanics or management on your own without guidance.. let go 2 days before probation was up for lack of 3rd year knowledge and apparent safety violations. Branch manager was inconsiderate, ignorant and impossible to talk to. Company is ran so if you aren't respected you're destined to fail.. wouldn't recommend this company for employment if your in search of a good apprenticeship!!

Good work environment

Good work environment. Lots of variety. People were good to work with. Company is accommodating towards its employees. Willing to train new employees. Pay could be a little better, but still not too bad.

Poor morale

Not a great place to work. The morale is in the toilet. In the transition to become One Wajax they got rid of most of the only decent management they had. This company expects everything 110% from you and gives you nothing in return.

Awesome place to work, great pay and benefits.

Awesome place to work, great pay and benefits. The shift was great, and the crew was great to work with. Working on the Detroit product is a good plus too.

Do not apply. Negative, unorganized and mismanaged.

Very high turnover rate. 27 - 28 mechanics over a few years. If you are a quality HD mechanic don't bother applying. You will hate shop supervisor. He loves his chips and never waddles out from behind his desk. There is no quality control on the new machines that they sell. Their clientelle doesnt get machines repaired there after the warranty is up. Very few engine, pump, motor or component rebuilds. Mostly contracted out. Poorly run by the lip service in the front and corner office. You know who you are. Retire or move on both of you. DO NOT APPLY...

Cheque doesnt bounce

All of it.

low moral ,company going down hill

- mid management very unqualified - very unprofessional towards customers - training is something in the pass now - shop mortal has never been so low - with no leadership everyone is walking around lost - who pays in the end is the customer high hours on jobs, poor workmanship due to training and organization. - sad to see a company go in the ground
