Overall a good place to work remotely and living in an area that has a lower cost of living and is closer to China's time zone. Can be difficult in North America unless you're willing to be up in the middle of the night. Much more reasonable in Europe.

Nice way to make cash on the side

Very early hours, trial classes often have no shows where you still get paid. Overall good part time job and lots of work available if you have a good profile and parents choose to book with you.

Work requires many more hours than you are actually paid for. I would not recommend taking a teaching job here. You are treated as a number and the pressure is high.

tutor

tutoring is fun and there is a strong sense of purpose teaching english to those who are eager to learn the language. It does get repetitive and there are times where there are learning barriers faced by some students.

Not a terrible company to work for but the pay is very low. You get to make your own schedule and essentially be your own manager whoch is great! Only thing I didn't like was their punitive absence policy. If you need to cancel a class with short notice you have to pay $10 when you are only making $7 per class. Also once the new.regulations with China came about and the Global platform was set up there were no students to teach anymore.

Vipkid has been pretty good for me so far. The course work is fairly well presented. The students are the best part of the job, and also the hardest part. It can be both very rewarding and very tiring.

At least it's an online job

Flexibility is the main benefit. No guaranteed hours, so it's up to teachers to cultivate a following and hopefully get bookings. Not best pleased with the responses from Admin when trouble-shooting or asking for a small salary increase after 5 contracts.

The ability to create your own hours makes VIP Kid an excellent source of supplementary income. VIP provides you with excellent training resources and amazing interactive slides to work off of.

Good company for remote work. Not too good with advancement, job security is there. Job culture is not really established.Great students and good feedback system for personal development.

Many promises, not a lot of money.

Trying to fill up your schedule is the luck of the draw. If you are a male teacher, you will be booked solid from the second you open your available time slots. If you are a female teacher, you need to know that it will take weeks or months before you will see a full schedule. Then, you are at the mercy of parents' reviews - they don't understand what assessments are and will trash your rating by accusing you of not teaching their child. You will live or die by their reviews.
