The most useful review selected by Indeed'Trial shift' is what I was first offered with. I ended up taking the job and never seen the gift card that was supposed to be my compensation for the time I worked.

Minimum wage. Your education and experience don't matter. Get a real restaurant job instead.
Nutritionist (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 17 June 2023
Don't expect to be utilizing your nutrition background or helping customers with their health concerns. This is a fast food joint disguised with all the trendy vegan health-washing elements. You'll be working multiple roles in one but will be paid the minimum. They want your title and willingness to do more than you should in your role and in the time allotted. The cleaning and closing duties should be done by at least 2 people. It's unreasonable. No incentive. Tips are minimal and pooled between staff. You'll get pennies at the end of the month. Better off getting a real restaurant serving job, at least you'll get minimum wage plus reasonable tips!
Pros
free food on your shift. Discounted food end of shift and off duty
Cons
ridiculous expectations for slave pay

Insights into Village Juicery
What people like
- Fair pay for job
- Feeling of personal appreciation
- Inclusive work environment
No support
Line Operator (Current Employee) - Mississauga, ON - 19 January 2023
Management does not care about any issues you bring up as long as they meet their juice quotas. If it affects production they’ll work to find a solution but if it doesn’t, suffer.
Pros
Free day old juice
Cons
Start and stay at minimum wage

Worst job I've ever taken
Production Worker (Former Employee) - Mississauga, ON - 19 January 2023
Village juicery [Mississauga distribution] has to be the worst poorly put together company I've ever worked for. 'trial shift' is what I was first offered with. I ended up taking the job. Never seen the gift card that was supposed to be my compensation for the 6 hours I worked. The hours are ridiculous. People are sharing boots 🤢. The have the highest turn over rate because they make you work with miserable people and are actually surprised when you quit.. blows my mind. DO NOT WORK HERE. Don't make the same mistake I made.
Pros
Free juice
Cons
Management, employees, pay rate.

Great environment and team. Pay increases are almost not a thing
Production Team Member (Current Employee) - Mississauga, ON - 20 March 2022
Have been with the company for many years. Is a great environment and lots of amazing people. Is a great team to be apart of. Leader/Managers are very kind and helpful. There's always extra juice to take home. If your willing to put in the effort there's always oppturintiy to become a team lead but most don't want to due to the little to no raises If the wage increase was actually competitive and mean something would be ideal place to work at. But after being here for multiple years only real increase I got was when I had to beg. Higher ups that are IN charge of pay increase need to understand that this selfishness deeply affects their employees and their image. I real hope they wake up and appreciate the efforts of their employees as it is a great place to work for. I just want everyone to be paid fairly and be with them long term.
Pros
People, Environment, Free Product, station gets easier every day.
Cons
Pay increases only happen once a year and is a few cents

Modern day slavery
Store Associate (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 29 October 2021
Horrible place to work for. They should be ashamed of how little they pay their workers. They take pride in expanding their stores, at the cost of slaving away their employees. Every employee throughout the company does the job of several people, from marketing to product development to the staff at the stores. You have to practically beg for a raise, and if it miraculously doesn’t get refused, they’ll only raise your wage by cents. Awful, awful, awful place to work. Don’t even consider it.
Pros
Absolutely nothing
Cons
Long hours, don’t get all the tips which go to management, low pay, too many responsibilities, uncaring company

Avoid at all costs
Customer Service Associate (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 24 May 2021
DO NOT trust the positive reviews. Management does not care about you. You basically have to do the job of 2-3 people and are paid minimum wage DURING A WORLDWIDE PANDEMIC. Its exhausting and its not worth the small amount of money and a juice you end up going home with. Management will do anyting to not pay you what you deserve like giving you free juice instead of giving you a raise or even giving you your tips you EARNED.. i felt exploited, used and not cared for
Cons
long hours, Low pay, management is disorganized

Would not recommend
Nutritionist (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 14 April 2021
Very low salary and many responsibilities, often youre working alone so all the tasks are on you. Everyone has keyholder positions but arent paid so. They tell you that you are going to get paid in many ways but it doesent actually add up to anything. The management takes half of tips So even though you get “tips” they dont fully go to you for providing kind service to customers. Basically you work for the price of one juice (a bit more) per hour. The people you work with are good but the salary is too low to make this job worthwhile. Would be better to work somewhere that actually gives you your tips so your effort isnt wAsted. The job title is also deceiving because youre basically a cashier. I did not feel like this company cared for me.
Pros
Free juice
Cons
Low pay, lots of responsibilities, dont get all your tips

Not as advertise
Facility and Maintenance Manager (Former Employee) - 1786 mattawa - 10 February 2020
The Owners (founders) are a fraud, he speaks one thing in the interview but things are different once you are hired, they try to do the bare minimum towards benefits but they want you to overpass their expectations, I had to put money out of my pocket to keep driving to all the different sites and all they offer for travel compensation is $150 per month no matter how much you travel you do, then if they are short in people you need to take a load of someone else shores besides your own, also they lack human skills to treat the personnel they will humiliate you and make you feel like a dime a dozen which will discourage any positive attitude, GGOD LUCK

Hard and tiring at first, easy after a few shifts in.
Press Operator (Current Employee) - Mississauga, ON - 21 October 2019
Job is hard at first, but after a while of doing the same thing over and over, you get used to it. Team is always short people weekly, or even a daily basis, so expect long hours and more work. Pay is not worth and unfair with the amount of work being done.
Only good thing about working here are the flexible hours.

Job
Production Worker (Former Employee) - Mississauga, ON - 23 September 2019
Pretty nice place to work. Good people, good perk is getting to take home extra juice that has been made. Good hours. Just not for me or anyone that isn’t quick on their feet.

Long hours no breaks
Press Operator (Former Employee) - 1786 Mattawa ave - 15 September 2019
I would not recommend anyone to work here its 8 hours or longer without a break ans when you do take a break you dont get paid for it only good thing is the free healthy drink but $14 an hour is to low for a juice company

It Almost Feels Like Slave Work
Distribution (Current Employee) - Distribution Facility - 10 September 2019
You cannot bring up a problem without risking your job, whether it is about procedure or management. I have seen so many people come and go this way. Now all of us veterans have learned to keep our mouths shut in order to keep our jobs.
Any positive suggestion on improvements get ignored by management, only to come up as someone's idea in management months later when the problem has affected the team for months already, and without credit or acknowledgement to the person that brought it up.
Free expensive juices, but little pay, and no benefits since most are considered part time. And don't think about trying to find ways to stretch hours to make it easier on you or try to get a decent pay check. What the company produces for a product is also pretty good.
Luckily most the team and some of the managers are awesome to work with. That is the only reason keeping me here while doing other part time jobs.
Pros
free juices, easy work
Cons
long hours doing one task, difficult management, feels under paid

Flexible job with room for growth!
In-store Nutritionist (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 29 August 2019
During many instances over my time there, I have felt supported and also that I was able to trust my own knowledge and instincts. It has been helpful to learn about their products and flex my nutrition muscles. The wage is quite low and if you are not particularly sales driven, can be hard to receive the bonuses that you are eligible for. Overall, would recommend, especially to students.

The company could improve
Production Worker (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 3 June 2019
the job was great due to getting free juices and and food. However, the amount of labour they ask in production the production side was a lot if you start at minimum wage. Management wasn’t bad but could improve.
Pros
Free juices and food to take home
Cons
Working

Disorganized management
Instore nutritionist (Current Employee) - Greater Toronto Area, ON - 27 October 2018
Disorganized management on store level and upper management. No pay stubs on time, poor salary, unrealistic expectations for part time employees. Undervalued for the effort. Underpaid for knowledge.
Pros
Free staff item
Cons
Unrealistic expectations
