Team Worker (Former Employee) – Etobicoke, ON – 3 August 2018
Work is relatively easy/mindless.
The office, warehouse, production and quality control staff are nice.
Sanitation, machine operators, packaging and supervisors are extremely difficult to work with.
The plant manager is a nightmare to encounter. Very condescending and does not respect people.
Training is horrendous. Lack of communication. Separate shifts complain about each other. Negative environment. Must have strong back bone. Unorganized. Benefits package is laughable. No incentives or appreciation. No chance for advancement. Under paid for work expectations. Very hot, dirty and noisy workplace.
This was a terrible soul sucking place. Most employees do not stay long or have other jobs and do not care or take the work seriously.
I wouldn't recommend working here to anyone unless you just need extra cash.
Good people to work with but company is run by inexperienced management
Team worker (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 25 July 2018
Working at Ventura foods was a good experience learned a lot during my short time there unfortunately upper management has no clue how to run production supervisors have no clue what to do. All the experienced supervisors left because of upper management the most experienced workers are not respected or recognized for the work they do All the inexperienced supervisors are intimidating and try to bully you to see how many numbers they can get just to show their bosses. Workers are great to work with but they are afraid of management so they don’t speak up because of consequences from HR.company needs to bring people that know how to respect workers and know how to really run production and not try to impress their American bosses.
Good people to work with
Management has no respect for employees will throw you under the bus
Factory Line Worker (Former Employee) – Etobicoke, ON – 9 July 2018
Working at Ventura Foods, I learned that team management is extremely important in being successful and productive for the benefit of myself and the company. Having a strong sense of independence is also really good to make sure you can manage things on your own at times.
Full time (8 hours) but given 2 breaks that are 30 minutes through the day.
Factory becomes extremely hot and no fans or A/C is provided.
Sales Representative (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 4 July 2018
The Ventura Foods Canada leadership team is inexperienced and has a closed door policy. Management conducts itself in an unprofessional and unwelcoming manner. The office is old and run down and is not a workplace conducive to productivity.
